Rev. Dr. Nicholas Apreh Saiw has taken over the Presbyterian College of Education in Akuapem-Akropong in the Eastern Region as the new 25th Principal of the college.

Rt. Rev. Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante, PHD, Moderator of the General Assembly, Presbyterian Church of Ghana stressed, “we are expecting 5 important things to be done by the new principal of the school”.
“We want him to beef up the academics works, and also to improve on the school’s infrastructure to beautify the environment as well”

Rt. Rev. Prof. Joseph Mante continue that, “what is more relevant for the Presbyterian Church is Holistic Education”
“Many people are of the view that, if you’re in the tertiary institution you don’t have to be working and that’s not a good education to our children”
“It is our responsibility to teach the children and let them work to know and understand that working with their hands in school is not a punishment but rather is part of life. I will be glad if all the various universities in Ghana will consider and teach the students on how to do the house chores, it will help a lot” he add.

Rt. Rev. Prof. Yeboah Mante mention this to Oboh News online in an interview during the Investiture Ceremony of the 25th Principal of Presbyterian College of Education of Rev. Dr. Nicholas Apreh Siaw at Akuapem-Akropong. He advised the new Principal to ensure that he will put good measures in place to save guard the school funds.
The new Principal of the college, Rev. Dr. Nicholas Apreh Siaw noted, “his vision is to make the college, the college of eminence in Africa and beyond. College of eminence means our vision and policies is in line with the int’l standard and practices”
“We will also create Internal Generated Fund (IGF) to run the affairs of the school and ensure that our infrastructure development will be more advance than all the other ones”

He further stated, “we won’t train only the heads and hands but rather we will train the heart also to fear God”
MP for Akuapem North Constituency and Deputy Minister of Information, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah Adei who graced the program congratulate Rev. Dr. Nicholas Apreh Siaw on his appointment as the 25th Principal of the college. I believe that, with Jesus in the boat, you will weather the storm and overcome all hurdles.

Hon. Dokua adds, “as government we can’t underestimate the role the Presbyterian Church have played through maintaining peace and order in the country by promoting health through the Presbyterian Hospitals. Again the Presbyterian Church has established numerous schools in Ghana and they are helping the country’s development”
“This government is committed to the colleges of education most especially Akropong P.C.E. We are ever ready to support PCE when the need arised” she assures.
