The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Suhum Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region, Hon. Mrs. Margaret Darko Darkwa has praised the hard working Ghanaian Farmers for their major contribution to the country’s development even in the midst of the covid. We have every reasons to appreciate them for their continuous support.
According to her, the farmers have done marvelously well by helping Ghana to get foreign income to do developmental projects in the country. You have to be proud of yourself as a Ghanaian farmer.
The introduction of Planting for Food and Job, Planting for Rural and Export Development policy by Prez Akufo-Addo has helped freed many farmers from poverty. The farmers are now enjoying good standard of living unlike those days.
“Hon. MCE adds, the Americans are peeved at Prez Donald John Trump that’s why they are voting against him in their election. Because when the covid hit their country he couldn’t manage it well and many people passed away. But if you come to Ghana Prez Nana Addo managed the covid cases well to ensure it doesn’t get out of hand and God being so good to us our death toll is still low. Prez Akufo-Addo deserve commendation for the fight against the covid.
She made these known to the press when she was addressing the Farmers, Chiefs and people of Suhum at Nankese on the 36th National Farmers Day Celebration Anniversary.

The overall best farmer for 2020 of the Municipality, Mr. Ransford Osei, 46, said, many people in Ghana prefer the white colour job over farming which is very bad.
….And you will see the same people moving up and down claiming there is no job in the country but there is job here in Ghana.
Mr. Osei continue that, people are working 24/7hrs in America. The sun doesn’t shine over there like Ghana but people still work under snow and they are making a lot of money.
Ghana gov’t is doing its best for the youth but we also have to help ourselves to get what we want. He also lambasted those people who call themselves Queen mother (s) for plantain, okra, cassava etc to stop detecting the price of the foodstuffs to the farmers.
Because they don’t know what it takes to be a farmer. The Ghana Gov’t should seek to it mothballed it. Some of the items he received include, one tricycle, one bicycle and other farming tools.
The NPP PC for the Suhum Constituency, Mr. On lack Kwadwo Asante on his part, “States, the farmers plays a vital role in our daily life”
He said, without the hard working of our farmers, the country would have gone hungry, because whatever we consumed into our body comes from the farmers.
NPP gov’t has done many things to support the farmers and we will do more for you if you give us another mandate on December 7 , polls. Mr. Oboafoɔ Kwadwo Asante on his own capacity presented 5 cutlasses , one warranty boot, 5 gloves and 5 bulbs to all the 30 farmers whom were awarded by the Assembly.
