Okorasehene Nana Asare Kumi III has debunked rumours circulating that he and some few people had secretly commissioned the newly Okorase Chip compound without the involvement of any gov’t officials and residents of the area.
This, he categorically indicated that, the Okorase chip compound is not officially commissioned as claimed by constituents of the area.
Nana Asare Kumi III explained that, Vodafone Ghana has a periodically donations initiative they do for towns and communities that needs help concerning their education and health.
“Vodafone Ghana has programme for their workers and fortunately for us we have one staff in Okorase who has been supportive to us over the past years, his first help was he brought Vodafone to Okorase to come and do free health screening for us” said Nana Kumi III.
“So this time around he came to me and asked do we need any help and I told him gov’t has built a new chip compound for us and is over 95% completion but we don’t have equipment inside for the nurses to moved inn and start working” he stressed.
Moreover, he explained that Vodafone Ghana assisted them with some hospital equipment and since they wanted the equipment not to be white elephant, they collaborated with them[Vodafone] as well as few personnels before handing over the equipment for the health workers to put them in use. But never commissioned the entire facility.
Following this, Nana Asare Kumi III denied speculations making wave that the facility was built by the former President H. E. John Dramani Mahama, revealing, it was rather built under H. E. President Nana Addo led NPP administration.
However, he noted that, cutting sod for the commencement of the project was made under the guise of incumbent MP for Akuapem North in the E/R , Hon. Nana Ama Dokua and former MCE for the municipality, Hon. Miracle Dennis Aboagye.
Nana Asare Kumi III added, in due time the gov’t officials of the constituency led by the Lawmaker and her MCE will officially come and commissioned the Okorase Chip Compound for use.
Making this remarks to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH in an interview, he thus, assures his people that on the day of commissioning the facility, he will make it known to every constituents to come and witness the ceremony.
