The government of Ghana has lunched a fight against Galamsey activities that has taken away the beautiful land and water resources we have in Ghana.
Following this, it has raised many concerns over the menace, which every good citizen of the country has joined the fight.
Anti-Galamsey activist Mr. Tweneboa Kodua has stated that, if the president is meant to stop this act for real, then he must first start from his government since most of his appointees; such as ministers, MMDCE’S, Regional executives, chiefs and many more are allegedly involved in the illegal mining activities( galamsey).
“Aside the water bodies that are being polluted, the galamsey activity in Ghana is also destroying our lands” he stressed.
Mr. Kodua continue that, until president take the necessary steps to stop his appointees and other respectable persons who are into Galamsey activities in Ghana, there is no way the fight against illegal mining can yeild any positive results.
“Any chief who involved in such act must be called-for, by naming and shaming. I believe this will serve as deterrent to others to put a stop to it” he noted.
This, he noted that, the fight against galamsey is a collective responsibility of every Ghanaian to help eradicate the growing canker.
