Students Offering TVET Courses Have Bright Future….Chairman K. A. Asiamah Reveals

The Chairman for Parliamentary Select Committee on Education, Hon. Kwabena Amankwah Asiamah has hinted that, Ghanaian students who are offering Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in school have a great and bright future per what they have witness in the various TVET centres in the country.

The Hon. Chairman who doubles as the Lawmaker for Fanteakwa North in the Eastern Region said, if the next world is industrial works then our children who are into TVET wouldn’t be left out.

“The kind of machines we have seen in the various TVET centres we have visited so far in the country in which the students will use them for learning is awesome, because all the infrastructure are state of the Art and everything is inside”

Hon. Amankwa Asiamah then noted that this will enable boost the morale of the TVET students, because should something new comes into their minds they will be able to use the equipment to manufacture them since every machine is available to them.

Hon. Kwabena Asiamah made these known to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH during a working visit to TVET schools in the Eastern Region to inspect both the completed and ongoing projects by the gov’t.

The indefatigable Deputy Minister of Education in charge of TVET, Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo adding her voice to the development urged parents to give positive commentary about TVET to make it attractive to their children rather than discouraging them from pursuing such courses in school.

She thereof reveals that they have a special programmes dubbed “Ghana TVET Voucher Projects”, and is for the master crafters who couldn’t go to school to learn how to use the modern machines to perform their duty.

“After the madam or master have pursue this course to advance themselves, the apprentices who will go and learn the handiworks from them is for free because the gov’t will take care of such people.

In addition, the deputy minister of Education who doubles as MP of Abuakwa North counstituency in the Eastern Region said the best solution of eradicating poverty is TVET thus urged the youth to take due advantage of it.

Moreover, the minority ranking member on the committee who is also the MP for Akatsi North Constituency in the Volta Region, Hon. Peter Nortsu-Kotoe stressed, they have gone round to the number of institutions to see the utilization of facilities the parliament have approved and they are impressed that work is ongoing well.

“Gov’t should make sure that facility are extended to other regions and districts where we don’t have this technical institutions so that they can also benefit. Because I believe that Technical and Vocational Education Training is the best way to go to industrialized the country.

Hon. Peter Nortsu appealed to the presenters to stop using their airtime talking politics on their various Radio and TV stations, rather, should it to educate the youth on TVET.
