Green Ghana Project: 2.5 Million Target Achieved In Eastern Region….Nana Bosompim Reveals

Nana Opoku Bosompim, Forestry Commission Manager- Eastern Region.

The Eastern Regional Manager of the Forestry Commission, Nana Opoku Bosompim has disclosed that the target set for the Green Ghana Project has been achieved in the region.

According to Nana Bosompim, Eastern Region targeted planting 2.5 million tree seedlings.

The development comes after the Ministry of Lands and Commission launched the Green Ghana Project of planting tree seedlings to protect and conserve the environment on Friday, June 10, 2024.

However, despite the huge number given, they managed to successfully exceed it.

He emphasized that not only the target was met, but people are still visiting its offices in the region for the tree seedlings for planting.

Nana Opoku Bosompim who was speaking to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH expressed satisfaction over how the project had been embraced by Ghanaians, something he described as a good call.

The Manager then used the medium to debunked the reportage alleging that some planted trees were left in the bush leading people to burnt them.

He further underscores the need for a collective responsibility in the country to help protect the trees growth into forests.

He subsequently stated that over 80% of the trees planted in 2021 in the region are in a good shape.
