The Deputy Education Minister in charge of Technical And Vocational Education and Training, Mrs. Gifty Twum Ampofo, on behalf of the government has presented a brand new 64 seater bus to Saviour Senior High School in Osiem in the Abuakwa North Municipality.
Addressing the staff and the students of the school, the Deputy Minister of Education who doubles as the MP for Abuakwa North Constituency said, she has secured four pick ups for all the four (4) SHS in her constituency together with the buses.

“In 2020, during the second phase of the disbursements of the buses, she [the MP] promised to give out two buses but she did extra work and lobby for three buses for each school in her constituency”, she revealed.
“Thank God I won the 2020 elections and was maintained at same ministry and subsequently was able to secure the 4th bus for the Saviour Senior High School here in Osiem,” she noted.

Furthermore, the Municipal Education Director for Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly, Madam Abena Gyemerah explained how the headmistress of Saviour Senior High School Dr. Hawa Adusei complained bitterly to her outfit over the lack of vehicle in her school.
“If the students fall sick she uses her own vehicle to convey them to hospital because there is no official vehicle for the school”, she continued.

Madam Abena Gyemerah highlighted that with the commitment level of the MP, she came to her aid with a pick up in 2021 before the recent school bus.
A situation in her view comes as a relief which she can retire peacefully because acquiring a school bus for the institution was a burden.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Abuakwa North Municipality, Alhaji Umar Bodinga is no doubt that President Nana Addo led administration’s commitment to the education sector is spot-on.
The MCE mentioned that he is much aware of the bad state of inner roads in the school and has assigned his roads engineer to assess it for a reshape.
