Mr. Daniel Obeng, the First Vice Chairman for Abuakwa North Constituency in the Eastern has said former President John Dramani Mahama’s call on President Akufo-Addo to address the nation on its current state of the economy is unnecessary.
This, according to him, both the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta and the President has on numerous occasions address Ghanaians on the current state of the economy therefore the call is needles.
“But if Mr. John Mahama say a huge amount of money has pass through Prez Nana Addo’s hands and haven’t seen what the money has used for, is up to him,” he said.
Mr. Obeng indicated that, in the year 2013 and 2014 he [Mr. Mahama] seek for economic bailout at the IMF program at a time the country was not facing any pandemic crisis.
He recalled how workers salaries were not paid most especially teachers among others.
“At that time Ghana was producing oil and the Ghana GDP was stable but yet still former President John Dramani Mahama run to the IMF for a bailout.
“So if he say he haven’t seen anything positive under Prez Akufo-Addo’s regime we should leave him to continue doing his talking”, he adds.
He made these known to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH.
Mr. Obeng adds, Mr. Dramani Mahama should be mindful with his utterances because elderly people do not speak anyhow…
He further warned John Dramani Mahama to be thoughtful of his behavior due to his status, but, if he want to do pure politics he should be openly because his comments about the economy is very worrying.
He however wondered Mr. Mahama’s hunger to return to power although he was once a head of state.
