The New Juaben South NDC Constituency Secretary hopeful in the Eastern Region, Mr. Joseph Quist has asked the Member of Parliament for New Juaben South Constituency, Mr. Michael Okyere Kofi Baafi to render unqualified apologise to the people of Juabenman over his International Monetary Fund statement.

This, according to him, NPP officials made a lot of noise about the then proposed E-levy bill which prior to it’s implementation of which the New Juaben South MP was not left out.

“During that time, Mr. Michael Baafi went to the various markets and lorry stations in Koforidua to tell the market women and the drivers to embraced the E-levy so that gov’t can get money to do infrastructure projects. Because they don’t want to go to IMF for bailout for small boys to detect for them as to how to run the affairs of the country,” he recalled.

Mr. Joseph Quist mentioned further that unfortunately the implementation of the E-levy couldn’t yield the expected revenue which resorted to go to IMF for support.

“I’m asking him to go back to those people he deceived to say sorry for the disappointment.”

Mr. Quist stated that, since IMF will come with many conditionalities and directives it may forced the country to freeze its employment.

He thus described the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as a failure and stated that NPP gov’t has collapsed the economy.

The secretary hopeful stressed, when John Dramani Mahama said whoever doesn’t have the status as an Ex-President must be cautious of his political utterances, Dr. Alhaji Bawumia and his NPP members took him for granted.

“Today Dr. Bawumia is quiet over the poor performance of the economy. The NPP gov’t doesn’t want to take responsibility of whatever is happening in Ghana,” he noted.

He was optimistic that Mr. Mahama will be in power in 2025 to rescue Ghanaians from the hardship.
