E/R: Fanteakwa South MP Commissions Two Health Centres

The Member of Parliament for Fanteakwa South Constituency in the Eastern Region, Kofi Okyere Agyekum has commissioned 14-bed capacity Osino Female and Children’s Ward and Nsutem Community Health-Based Planning Service Compound (CHPS Compound).

The facilities, Osino Female and Children’s ward and Nsutem Community Health-Based Planning Services Compound (CHPS COMPOUND) aimed to enhance quality healthcare delivery in the constituency.

Speaking to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH, the MP bemoans the unappreciated attitude of some constituents who deliberately accused him of not undertaking any developmental projects in the area however it is contrary to their claims.

Mr. Agyekum, defended that following the assumption of the NPP government in 2017, he has worked tirelessly in collaboration with the Fanteakwa South District Assembly and has been able to execute 12 developmental projects for only Nsutem Community.

He was of the view that once an MP perform a good job for the people and they ain’t going to appreciate his or her effort, discrediting him or her should never be a practice let alone entertain nor condone because such attitude is disheartening.

He stressed by assuring that he will continue to work hard to secure more projects for his constituents.

Furthermore, the Director of Health for Fanteakwa South District Assembly, Margaret Nyarko indicated that, although the Osino Health centre is close to the Accra-Kumasi highway, they are unable to admit victims whenever there is an accident due to lack of hospital beds.

She seized the opportunity and thanked the MP for the female and children’s ward provided, saying, it has come at the right time and would help them to admit more patients, especially accident victims, and give them first aid before any referral would be done.

On his part, the District Chief Executive for Fanteakwa South District, Ernest Ofosu disclosed that work on the agenda 111 hospital projects in the District Hospital will be commenced soon.

He buttresses that Fanteakwa South District has received its share of the National cake when it comes to developmental projects, especially in the Health sector.

Ernest Ofosu mentioned that they were supposed to commission four Health centres at a goal but because of time factors they couldn’t, therefore the remaining two would be done in a week.
