Don’t Rely On Gov’t For Jobs…Graduands Told

The Founding President and for Heritage Christian University College in Amasaman, Dr. Samuel Twumasi Ankrah has urged graduands in the country not to refrain from being overreliance on gov’t for jobs.

He submitted to them that, the current socio-economic reality is such that the government has no jobs to offer all persons including thousands of people who graduate yearly.

The Heritage Christian University College President furthered by adding that there is only a minute chance for graduates to get employment from the private sector, so the present and future state of job acquisition looks bleak.

Dr. Twumasi Ankrah made this known at the 4th Graduation and 21st Commissioning Ceremony of Heritage Bible Institute where 190 students comprises of 87 Christian College Bachelor’s degrees and 103 Heritage Bible Institute students graduated.

The ceremony was held at the school’s premises at Amasaman on Saturday, December 10, 2022.

The programme was celebrated under the Theme:” Entrepreneurship: A Solution to Economic Security in Africa. He then entreated the graduands to take the mantle in their hands and do something for themselves to become jobless.

On his part, Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong, a businessman, who was the guest speaker of the programme also advised the graduands to take advantage of opportunities because entrepreneurship is all about innovation and he noted that innovation does not end right from old age till date.

He added that, unfortunately, many people are of the view that, entrepreneurship is reserved for people who opted for a formal system of education and that notion/idea is completely wrong. Because everybody can venture into entrepreneurship.

Furthermore, the Chairman of the Council for Heritage Christian University College, Samuel Kumi Ayim also appealed to gov’t and their regulatory bodies to provide enabling environment to assist institutions like HCUC to continue to provide valuable service in the area of quality education and employment.

He used the opportunity to remind the graduands that, the day serves as a reflection on whom they want to become and the contribution they need to make to society as they step out into the world in humility and responsibility.
