Most Ghanian Languages Are Perishing…Rev. Opuni Frimpong

A former General Secretary for Christian Council of Ghana who doubles as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Christian Advocacy Africa, Rev. Dr. Kwabena Opuni Frimpong has indicated that most Ghanian languages are perishing from the system due to attitude of tribalism.

He stressed the need for every tribe to feel proud of itself to enable one find space in the various societies.

Rev. Dr. Opuni Frimpong mention this during the celebration of 50th Golden Jubilee of Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Christ Congregation at Adweso Mile 50 on Sunday, December 25, 2022.

According to him every society must be included in every aspect of life, something that would pave way for the needed respect it accord.

Owing to this background, he said it is potential of promoting peace and unity in the country.

Adding to that, he emphasized if ‘we want Ghana to develop then we must go back for our old traditions and customs and cherish what we have as a country.’

The Adweso Mile 50 District Minister for the Church, Rev. Alex Owusu-Addo commended the leaders who fought hard to established the Church at Adweso Mile 50 for it existence in the 50yrs of their success.

He highlighted on the rich tradition Ghana has had over the years but was worried it is not value especially most churches in the country doesn’t recognize tradition.
