The Member of Parliament for Suhum Constituency in the Eastern Region, Oboafo Kojo Asante has hinted that, the 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana is the most difficult one in the country’s history.
According to him, Parliament is about numbers, saying that, the hanging parliament is making their work very difficult, especially the NPP’s MPs to the extent that they can’t leave Parliament to go to their various constituencies to visit their constituents regularly unlike those days.

Oboafo Asante explain that, they have to attend parliament proceedings all the time even if they are sick due to their equal numbers [137-137] with one independent MP on their side.
“If they leave Parliament for their constituencies, their opponent [NDC] will use their numbers to disapprove a lot of the government policies or bills that has been laid before the house for approval or passage and they don’t want such things to happen” he noted.

The MP told Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH when rendering an account to his constituents about the works he has done over the past two years from January 7, 2021 to January 7, 2023 as a first timer MP.
Oboafo Kojo Asante then urge Ghanaians across all the 275 constituencies to exercise restraint for their MPs because this regime of the 8th parliament is very though for them.
Despite all the challenges confronting them, he assured the good people of Suhum to have faith in him, because they are going to see more developmental projects in the next two years ahead of them and asked them to maintain him come 2024 elections.

Later on, some of the constituents who attended the MP’s two years stewardship account to the people program commended him for his good works done as first timer MP and said he deserve another term to do more.
They told KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH that, the MP projected every single project he has done in the Constituency with videos and pictorial evidence which is visible for everyone to see it and this is what we call it proper accountability.
