The Municipal Chief Executive for Abuakwa South Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region, Akosua Asabea Annoh has said, Ghana’s political fight for independence led the way for other sub-Saharan Countries to set up their effort towards self-governance.
According to her, Ghana will continue to remain a beacon of hope for many other countries across the African continent.

Akosu Annoh added that the annual celebration of self-governance must be essential irrespective of the current economic crises the country is facing.
The MCE emphatically stated that, the independence didn’t come on a silver platter, but rather it took a great deal of courage, sacrifice, commitment and persistence to achieve it.

Asabea Annoh made this known on Monday, March 6, 2023, at Kyebi during the celebration of Ghana’s 66th Independence Day under the theme: ‘Our Unity, Our Strength, Our Purpose’.

The Kyebihene, Osaberima Marfo Kwabrane, on his part said, there has been back-and-forth during this 66 years celebration but still Ghana has chopped some successes under President Akufo-Addo.
He then appealed to President Nana Addo to held his last 6th March at Sultpond to honor those who gained the independence for the country and the people over there, because that is where they supposed to celebrate the 1st Independence Day at but later moved it to Accra.
