
The Lawmaker for Fanteakwa Constituency in the Eastern Region, Kofi Okyere Agyekum has on Friday, November 10, 2023 commissioned the Akyem Hemang 500 seater capacity community center with an auxiliary facilities.
Speaking at the program, the MP said, the project form part of the New Patriotic Party’s government one million dollar per the constituency initiative under the auspices of the Middle Belt Development Authority.
Mr. Okyere Agyekum mentioned, Bososu Police Station, the refurbishment of Ahiamakyene market, Osino 10 seater W/C, Dwenase 10 seater gW/C, Ahiamakyene 10 seater W/C and amongst others projects were all funds by the Middle Belt Development Authority.


According to him after drawing an initial plan of the town hall with 400 -seater capacity he realized that the grounds could be used for other programs to generate income for the Assembly; hence its expansion to 500 capacity to be able to accommodate more people including the two other conference rooms where the Chiefs of Hemang can hold meetings.
He further argued that should four District Assemblies who had most of it projects completed and fully paid for, Fanteakwa South District can not be left out.

A development the MP expressed gratitude to leaders of Middle Belt Development Authority for championing such projects.
For her part, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Middle Belt Development Authority (MiDA) Lawyer Joyce Opoku Boateng noted that, the Member of Parliament for Fanteakwa South, Kofi Okyere Agyekum have identified other places such as Abompe, Dwenase and Ahiamakyene and assures them of receiving their fair share of the national cake with such edifice to aid their development.
She added noting that President Akufo-Addo is committed to develop the rural areas by making available to them the aforementioned projects.

“Under the 1m dollars per Constituency initiative, Eastern Region alone has 997 projects which include markets, toilet facilities, town halls, water systems and they are working with the MPs when it comes to the projects implementations to identity projects that can help and benefit their constituents.”

Akyem Hemanghene, Osaberima Mmirrikisi Okasum Apori Atta complained bitterly about how illegal miners ( galamseyers) are destroying their lands and entreated the Fanteakwa South Police Command to be proactive in their work to get the offenders arrested.
This, he said, when the environment get destroyed irrespective of whatever investment they will made, it will be useless, indicating, he has been tag as anti mining but he is not perturbed because he wants things to be done in a rightful way.
