
The Benjilo Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in the Abuakwa South Municipal Assembly of the Eastern Region has supported 50 graduates who sat for the 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination B.E.C.E and preparing to embark on their Senior High Schools journey with an item worth over One Hundred thousand Ghana Cedis (¢100,000.00)
The foundation seeks to provide support for the brilliant but needy in the municipality who had an aggregate of 6-15 to lessen the burden of their parents. This is the third edition of the program which in all have supported over 150 BECE graduates.
Some of the prospectors received by the beneficiary students are; trunks, student mattresses, toiletries, rubber buckets, mobs, and rubber brooms with addition of two hundred Ghana Cedis (¢200.00) cash to each person.

Speaking at the program held at Odumase on Sunday, December 3, 2023, the Chief Executive Officer for Benjilo Foundation, Benjamin Arkaah Otoo stated, one of his brilliant classmates called Osei had an aggregate six and had admission into Prempeh College but due to financial constraints as a result of of single parenting, he was thus compelled to go and learn auto electricals in Kumasi.
“But anytime I remember what happened to my colleague I become worried because should there be free SHS by then and being getting support like this B.E.C.E graduates by this time my colleague would be a medical doctor,” he opined.
The CEO who doubles as the President of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG), added that this initiative by his foundation is poised to help the brilliant students in Abuakwa South whose parents can’t afford the Senior High School prospectors to be able to further up their education because they are the future leaders of the country.
Each graduate received Students mattress, trunk, toiletries, rubber buckets, mob, rubber broom and two hundred Ghana Cedis (¢200.00) as transportation fare.
In his remarks, the Odikro of Odumase, Nana Ntim Obuobi Atiemo thanked Benjamin Arkaah Otu for using his own money to support the education of these brilliant but needy students in the municipality.
He then advice the children to exhibit good attitude and learn hard and come out with flying colours and make Benjamin Otu proud.

The Education Director for Abuakwa South Municipal Assembly, Madam Comfort Ofori-Appiah was impressive of the gesture by Mr. Otu, adding it would solve the many challenges of finances that occasion the education of these students.
She added that the 50 graduates who scored between aggregate 6 and 15 are privileged to the CLOSSAG boss because their parents can use the prospectors money to buy them text books.
Last but not the least, some parents and beneficiary graduates spoke to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH and show gratitude to Benjilo Foundation its humanitarian act.
