Abuakwa North MP Grabs Two GALOP Projects For Two Schools

The Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North Constituency in the Eastern Region, Gifty Twum Ampofo has acquired two Ghana Accountability for Learning Outcomes Projects (GALOP) for two schools in her constituency.

The beneficial schools are Akyem Old Tafo Presbyterian Primary and Akyem New Tafo Methodist Primary Schools respectively.

Per the projects, each school will get six units of ultramodern classroom blocks with furniture to enhance the quality of education in the area.

The objective of the GALOP project is to improve the quality of education in low-performing basic education schools and strengthen the education sector’s quality and accountability in Ghana.

Speaking with the media, Gifty Twum Ampofo said, that the condition of school buildings attracts both pupils and teachers to be punctual to school.

The Abuakwa North MP who doubles as the Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) added that GALOP is funded by the World Bank and believes when they officially cut sod for the commencement of the projects the contractors will complete work within the 12 months frame given.

Gifty Ampofo made these known during the handing-over of the two sites to the contractors.

She further stated that she was excited to lobby for such projects for the two schools in her constituency.
