KISHTS Wins 2024 Kingsley Inter-High School Debate

Dr. Kingsley Agyeman presenting the trophy to KISHTS

The Kibi Senior High Technical School in the Abuakwa South Municipal Assembly of the Eastern Region has been crowned as the 2024 ultimate winner of the second edition of the Kingsley Inter-High School debate.

They went into the grand finale competition with Abuakwa State College and debated on the motion: J.B Danquah’s ideological contributions have played a defining role in shaping the socio-political and cultural landscape of Ghana.

Abuakwa State College was for the motion while the Kibi Senior High Technical School was against the motion.

Speaking to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH, the Parliamentary Candidate for Abuakwa South Constituency, Dr. Kingsley Agyeman who spearheaded the program commended both students from the two schools for being able to argue and defended everything they said about the late Joseph Boakye Danquah.

Dr. Agyeman described the late Danquah as someone who dedicated himself to fighting the colonial masters against something that didn’t help Ghanaians.

According to The Abuakwa South NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate who doubles as the Registrar of the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat, the late Joseph Boakye Danquah believes that they can use a gradual process and dialogue to sack our colonial masters without using weapons, indicating that it got to a time he could have left the country but refused and went through a lot before he died on February 4, 1965.

The Winners.

He then noted that the legacy of Dr. J. B. Danquah can never be undermined, because he played a key role in ensuring that Ghana freed herself from the white men, a feat, which contributed to the development of Ghana.

“Danquah died 59 years ago but today we are here remembering and talking about him because he lived a good life, which is why everyone needs to live an impactful life”, stated Dr. Kingsley Agyeman.

He then advised Ghanaians to live a legacy life so that when they are no longer the unborn generation will also come and read about them.

All six students who took part in the debate received one laptop each with an undisclosed amount of money.
