The Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong has urged Assembly Members of the Achiase and Birim South Districts Assembly to form unified ties with their District Chief Executives.
According to him, once the assembly members support their District, Municipal, and Metropolitan Chief Executives in discharging their duties accordingly it would help in the development of their respective areas and the country.
Seth Kwame Acheampong was pleased over how the practice of democracy which allows one to express his or her views in a national discourse has been a tool for nation-building.
He noted that 30 years of practicing democracy in Ghana after gaining independence had also helped Ghanaians most especially in criticising and commending the government of the day.
The minister seized the opportunity and congratulated the assembly members elect and urged them to contribute their quota towards the development of both the Birim South and Achiase District assemblies respectively.
On Monday, February 12, 2024, 259 out of the 261 Assembly Members were inducted into the Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies across the country to commence work till 2027.
