The New Patriotic Party’s Delegates of the Akuapem South Constituency in the Eastern Region on Saturday, March 2, 2024, elected Eric Apeadu Yeboah as the new Parliamentary Candidate to lead them into the 2024 election.

The elections which were supposed to be held on January 27, 2024, were suspended due to issues of court injunction.

Apeadu Yeboah was contested by the Municipal Chief Executive, Frank Aidoo, Eric Samuel Annor Mensah, and Kwame Ofori Gyau in the primaries to succeed the incumbent member of Parliament OB Amoah who withdrew his interest to seek re-election.

Eric Apeadu polled 267, Mr. Aidoo had 69, Annor Mensah polled 54, and Kwame Ofori Gyau garnered 152 votes, respectively.

Speaking to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH, the newly elected Akuapem South Parliamentary Candidate, Apeadu Yeaboa thanked the delegates for having trust in him and giving him the nod in his quest to represent them in Parliament and help in national development.

“I thanked all and sundry who contributed immensely to the elections to be successful and I promised to maintain the Parliamentary Seat for NPP in the Akuapem South”, he added.

He furthered by saying, there is a big task ahead of them in the upcoming 2024 election that is to break the 8-year jinx.

“Doing so will not come on a silver platter, it needs determination and hard work, he then pleaded with all the party, faithful, and supporters especially those supporting the other aspirants to come on board and rally behind the party to achieve that vision of winning power in 2024,” he mentioned.

He promised to work hard to increase the NPP’s vote in Akuapem South from 10,000 to 15,000 in the December 7, 2024 general elections.
