The Member of Parliament for New Juaben South Constituency in the Eastern Region, Michael Okyere Baafi has cut the sod for the construction of a Community Health Center for the people of Osabene-Mile 50.
The project, the MP said is expected to be completed within six months.
Speaking at a brief ceremony after the sod cutting, Mr. Okyere Baafi stated that Osabene-Mile 50 has become one of the fastest-growing Electoral Areas in the constituency thus it befit them to get a health center to enable the people to get equal access to healthcare services.
He disclosed further that his office is ensuring they provide health centers in all the communities within the New Juaben South constituency so that patients will not overly rely on the Regional Hospital in Koforidua for medical attention.
“The other communities yet to get such project should exercise restraint because we have put in place measures to put up a health center in the remaining communities to give quality healthcare to the people of New Juaben South,” he told KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH
Owning to this, the MP made a passionate appeal to family heads and individuals to release some of their lands to the government for such developmental projects for their benefit.
Mr. Okyere Baafi said it is painful that after successfully fighting hard to secure projects for the communities, getting a portion of lands for the execution sometimes becomes a hindrance, a situation he noted retards development.
He used the opportunity and thank the Akwasi Akore family for releasing the portion of the land used for the construction of the Osabene-Mile 50 Community Health Center.
