Hunger Won’t Allow Ghana To Sign The Anti-LGBTQI Bill…Presby Moderator

Rt.Rev. A.N. O. Kwakye, Moderator-Presbyterian Church of Ghana.

The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Right. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye says the country would not sign the Anti-Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex (LGBTQI) bill into law because of the external support from its colonial masters.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Opare Kwakye emphatically stated that Ghana is a hunger state so the Western World will continue being dictating for her.

According to him, even if President Akufo-Addo signed the LGBTQ bill into law they would be compelled to unsigned it to prevent the Western countries from not aiding the country financially.

He asked “Why is it that the Western World cannot impose LGBTQI on Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Palestine, Syria, Qatar, Iran, and other countries that have criminalized it?

“The Western World has realized that Africans are hungry and poor and always begging them for arms, hence trying to force us[Ghana] to practice the LGBTQI,” he said.

Right, Rev. Dr. Abraham Kwakye made this assertion on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at the Aburi Presbyterian Church of Ghana when celebrating the Palm Sunday festive under the theme: “HOSANNA, LORD SAVE US NOW”.

He further stated that ‘we are hungry, but we have all the natural resources because of the bad leadership style we are suffering and today the whites are dictating for us how to run and manage the affairs of a Sovereign State like Ghana, he described the situation as very painful.’

Right. Rev. Dr. Nana Kwakye mentioned that during the COVID-19 period, no flight was allowed to fly to different countries, and it paved the way for both the poor and rich to receive medical care at the same hospitals in Ghana, indicating that is one advantage of the virus.

“If not, those in the leadership positions would have flown outside the country to treat themselves because they know the hospitals they have built for Ghanaians are not the standard ones,” he opined.

The Moderator was of the view that if the country had things right and put up standard hospitals in the country and managed our natural resources well, the Western World would not have imposed some practices on the country.
