I Wish To See All Children In Abuakwa North Being Educated…Gifty T. Ampofo

Gifty Twum Ampofo, MP-Abuakwa North Constituency.

The Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North Constituency in the Eastern Region, Gifty Twum Ampofo has reiterated her commitment to providing infrastructure deficit for her constituents to strengthen the educational sector in the area.

The MP who lost her third parliamentary bid stated that she will be leaving Parliament in 2025 and would be happy to see all the children in Abuakwa North being highly educated and excelling in all aspects of life in the future.

According to the immediate Deputy Minister of Education responsible for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), education remains one of her topmost priorities, hence lobbying for more educational infrastructure for her constituents.

She added that after the needs of the teachers are met, the next thing is to ensure that the learners have good places to sit and study, indicating that before she leaves the office as a Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North all the communities in the area will get a classroom block to enhance teaching and learning.

Gifty Twum Ampofo mentioned these when breaking grounds for the construction of an ultramodern KG blocks for Bediasi and New Tafo Presbyterian M/A Basic school, and 3-unit classroom blocks for Sokode Juaso M/A Basic schools respectively.

She then used the opportunity and show gratitude to President Akufo-Addo for letting her serve under his government as Deputy Minister of Gender, Social, and Children Protection and Deputy Minister of Education in charge of TVET for the past five years.

“All the 3 projects are expected to be completed on December 31, 2024”, she told Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH.

Bediasihene, Berima Ofori Minta II said that the absence of the JHS in the community has been their biggest challenge and that children have to walk to either Suhyen or Kukurantumi to pursue Junior High School.

He added that to address the situation leaders of the community have written to the MP of the area to get them the JHS block so that the children can attend JHS education without stressing themselves.

“We are happy that our MP didn’t turn her back on us when we called on her for aid and we pray that they complete it on time so that the children can go there and study”, he added.
