The Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North Constituency in the Eastern Region, Gifty Twum Ampofo has assured her constituents developmental projects they deserve despite bowing out from parliament in January 2025
According to her, the constituents of Abuakwa North cannot suffer the consequences of the decision made by their delegates to vote against her to halt her vision of developing the area.
“Delegates are the people you can’t predict, those closer to you are the ones who will betray you on voting day so if such things occur, you don’t have to channel your anger on your innocent constituents and abandon all the ongoing projects and leave the Constituency to go and stay in abroad.”
The immediate past Deputy Minister of Education in charge of TVET added that Kukurantumi was her hometown and she would continue to stay there and work for her constituents until her term in office as MP expires.
Gifty Ampofo made this statement to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH on Easter Sunday when she paid a surprise visit to the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church of Ghana in Kukuratumi where she observed the Sunday School service and shared some snacks among the children.
She used the opportunity and share the word of God with them and advised them to be obedient to their parents and take their education seriously as doing so will give them a brighter future.
The Abuakwa North Legislature then assured her constituents that so long as she remains their MP, she would use all her links to lobby for more developmental projects for them because it was her responsibility to serve them well and this is what all the outgoing Members of Parliament must emulate.
Recently, she broke grounds for the construction of ultramodern KG blocks for both Bediasi M/A and New Tafo Presbyterian, 3 units of classroom blocks for Sokode Juaso M/A Basic Schools respectively to enhance teaching and learning in the area.
