More than 130 workers of the Tropo Farms in the Asuogyaman District Assembly of the Eastern Region have paid a courtesy call on the New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary Candidate of the Constituency, Pius Enam Hadzide to come to their aid over poor conditions of service at their workplace.
Tropo Farms is a private company that is solely into Talipia business but according to the aggrieved staff, the management of the company is not treating them fairly.
They said, they go to work in the morning and either return home by 12 or 2 AM midnight which makes it difficult to have time for their families, and their salaries are nothing to write home about.
According to them, a place of convenience at the workplace has become a problem as they find it difficult to respond to nature’s call when necessary.
As such, they claim that there are two big potholes on both sides of the road leading to their workplace which is very dangerous to their daily routine using the stretch because they feared their vehicle could capsize one day.
“We have lodged a lot of complaints to the management of the Company concerning the challenges confronting our job and nothing has been done about it; hence falling on Pius Enam Hadzide to intervene for us because we don’t have anybody to speak for us,” they told Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH.

For his part, the Parliamentary Candidate for Asuogyaman Constituency, Pius Enam Enam Hadzide assured them of engaging their management to find a lasting solution to their predicament.
“But if I go there and they see me as nobody and refuse to do the needful for their staff and if I win the Parliamentary seat come December 7, 2024, I will show them there is a law in this country that protects the well-being of the workers,” he added.
The CEO of NYA then admonished the aggrieved Tropo farms workers to exercise restraint because he believed that after engaging with their management the outcome would be positive.
