Atiwa East: NPP Chairman Entreats Students To Partake In Voter Registration Exercise.

Albert Nuamah, NPP Chairman- Atiwa East Constituency.

The Atiwa East Constituency Chairman for the New Patriotic Party in the Eastern Region, Albert Nuamah admonished eligible students at the Senior High School (SHS) level to embrace the ongoing voter registration exercise.

He underscores the need for these eligible students who hail from Atiwa East but schools outside the area to return home and register to enable them to vote for the NPP in power come December 7, 2024, amid retaining power.

He mentioned that with the new voter registrar for Atiwa East, the NPP has targeted capturing students since their target is to vote against the opposition NDC party.

According to him, the youth of the country who have attained the age of 18 should take the exercise seriously to be able to partake in the upcoming 2024 general elections and maintain the NPP in power because they think about their well-being, hence all their policies and programs favor them.

Albert Nuamah then urged the residents of Atiwa East who lived outside the town to return home and register because they wanted to move away from the District to the Municipal and that would depend on the number of people that get registered.

Despite calling on the students and residents to come and register their names, he is optimistic that at the end of the exercise, they will meet their target by registering over 70% of the new voters.

For his part, the Youth Organizer for the National Democratic Congress in Atiwa East Constituency, Sumaila Ahmed was impressed with the exercise, adding that there haven’t been any challenges since its commencement.

Sumaila Ahmed also expressed his excitement about the number of registrants so far and believes that they will vote for NDC to come and save the country from economic hardship.

The two were speaking to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH when they embarked on a monitoring exercise at the ongoing limited voters’ registration exercise in the area.

However, the Atiwa East District Officer for the Electoral Commission, Sulemana Sayibu Alhassan indicated that they have recorded five challenges which are not minor and they are yet to discuss with the political parties to see how best they can do to solve the issues.

He used the opportunity to entreat those who had not registered to do so before the exercise ended in June.
