E/R: Akyem Tafohene Backs Prof. Jane Opoku-Agyemang To Become Ghana’s Vice President

The Akyem Tafohene in the Abuakwa Traditional Council of the Eastern Region, Daasebre Adusei Peasah has thrown his weight behind the running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang to make history and become the first-ever female Vice President in the country.

The Overlord of Akyem Tafo underscores the latter for her selfless dedication and massive contributions towards the growth and development of the country.

According to him, during her days as Vice Chancellor at the University of Cape Coast and Minister of Education, she impacted many lives therefore, strongly believes that once the NDC wins the next election, she will use her knowledge and wisdom acquired to help John Dramani Mahama to govern the country.

Daasebre Adusei Peasah while highlighting the in-depth knowledge and capabilities of Pro Jane Opoku kicked against comparing her to others, as he indicated that the act does not help in nation-building.

According to the traditional ruler, the practice is a distraction tool that hinders development.

He used the opportunity and advised the NDC’s running mate to desist from condoning such acts in case she becomes Vice President and encountered such.

The Akyem Tafohene made this assertion when Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang paid him a courtesy call at his palace in Akyem Old Tafo.

Prof. Jane Opoku-Agyemang’s visitation to Abuakwa North was also imminent as she used the occasion to console the Young Women Christian Association Palm Oil after a fire gut their extraction factory.

Addressing the fire victims, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang assured them that, the flagbearer of NDC, President John Mahama would console them when he took over power from the NPP government by reconstructing their factory.

She stated that the well-being of Ghanaian women in the country is very dear to her; hence coming up with programs and policies that will bring changes in women’s empowerment because once they prosper it helps in supporting their spouses in many ways.

“We can’t just come here and have a word with you with an empty hand, So John Mahama said I should give you 50,000.00¢ and inappropriate time he will come and visit you as well,” she opined.
