The Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North Constituency in the Eastern Region, Gifty Twum Ampofo says that voting out government every eight years retard development.
According to the immediate past Deputy Minister of Education in charge of TVET, developed countries like Malaysia, China, Germany, Singapore, and others maintained their government in power for decades.
She, thus, believes Ghana can compete with them in terms of developmental wise the country had emulate their system of changing government in power.
Mrs. Twum Ampofo stated that the NPP government has done a lot of infrastructure projects in the last 7 years and more of such feat will be achieved if Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia is elected as the next President of Ghana after Akufo-Addo.
Gifty Ampofo believes if NPP is retained in power in the upcoming 2024 elections it will be a sign of development a
transformation to the country.
The Abuakwa North MP made this known when Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia visited her constituency on Thursday, August 22, 2024, as part of his Eastern tour.
Gifty Twum Ampofo then used the occasion to outdoor the newly elected Parliamentary Candidate of the Constituency, Nana Kwame Ampaw Addo Frimpong to the constituents who was present at the gathering.
She further urged the constituents to vote for the MP hopeful, noting that’s the NPP needed a majority in Parliament to make their work easy and also enable them to deliver their promise made to Ghanaians if they win the 2024 election.
For Nana Kwame Ampaw Addo Frimpong, popularly known as Chief Buffalo, the Parliamentary Candidate of the area, warned against the canker of bitterness and disunity which contributed to the party’s defeat in 2008, stating they can’t afford to repeat same come the December 7th exercise.
