The Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, has commissioned the 188 Lower Manya Krobo lockable stores in the Eastern Region to enhance business in the municipality.
The Local Government Minister was joined by the Municipal Chief Executive of the Municipality, Simon Kwaku Tetteh, and traditional leaders in the area to commission the project. According to Martin Adjei Kosah, the project was funded by the World Bank and is part of Ghana’s Inner Secondary Cities Support Program.
Speaking with the cross-section of journalists, Martin Korsah mentioned that the newly built 188 ultramodern lockable stores will improve trading in Lower Manya Krobo and boost the local economy as well.
To him, these projects would not only boost their local economy alone but would also create job opportunities for the youth in the area. Martin Adjei Korsah lamented how the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is critiquing the NPP government for excessive borrowing and has not seen what the money has been used for.
He stated that the government cannot borrow money on behalf of Ghanaians to spend anyhow, indicated that the Lower Manya Krobo 188 lockable stores and other major projects nationwide are from the money the government has borrowed.
Adjei Mensah Korsah then urged Ghanaians to ignore the NDC’s propaganda against President Akufo Addo for overborrowing and therefore vote for the NPP to retain power in the upcoming 2024 general election to continue the good works in the country.
The Woman Organiser for the Constituency, Gifty Ambasaki, also mentioned that the NPP government has done a lot for the people of Lower Manya Krobo, specifically the women who are into business in the constituency.
Gifty Ambasaki urged the market women in the constituency to use this opportunity to vote massively for Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia to become the next president of Ghana to continue the good works he has started.
However, the businesswomen in the constituency expressed how they have waited for a long time, but through the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo and the MCE, Simon Tetteh, for giving them ultramodern lockable stores to run their business smoothly.
