The Member of Parliament for the Suhum Constituency in the Eastern Region, Oboafo Kwadjo Asante, who is also contesting as an independent parliamentary candidate in the 2024 election, has embarked on a street-to-street campaign to solicit votes from constituents.
According to him, the 2024 election will determine the future of the youth in Suhum.
This, he noted has motivated him to engage in the street-to-street campaign to emphasize the importance of the December polls and to encourage constituents to support his re-election bid as their Member of Parliament, citing numerous plans he has for them.
Oboafo Kwadjo Asante highlighted his accomplishments over the past four years as MP, stating that he needs another term to complete ongoing projects and further develop the constituency.
“I respect and have a good relationship with my constituents, which is why they urged me to contest the 2024 parliamentary elections as an independent candidate after I lost the primaries in January this year. They have seen my hard work across the constituency,” he said.
He added that he is number 4 on the ballot paper and pleaded with the people of Suhum to vote for him so he can continue representing them in Parliament and lobby for more infrastructure projects to benefit the area.
During the campaign, Oboafo Kwadjo Asante used the opportunity and visited the ongoing Nankɛse Health Centre project and assured Nankɛsehene, Berima Annor Marfo, that he is committed to completing the facility to provide accessible medical care for the community.
He also advised the youth in Suhum to remain calm and avoid any actions that could disrupt the election process, urging them to protect the constituency’s positive image.
Additionally, Oboafo Kwadjo Asante called on the Electoral Commission to remain professional in their duties during the upcoming election, as they have done in previous years, to ensure a peaceful and successful process in the Suhum Constituency.
