Allow Others To Instill Discipline In Your Wards…Parents Advised

The Parish Priest of All Saints Anglican Church in Suhum, Eastern Region, Rev. Canon Charles Lawrence Kwabena Amankwah, has advised parents to allow others to instill discipline in their children to help shape their future.

“If parents allow their children to be disciplined and guided on their path by others, it strengthens them and helps them learn new things, enabling them to become well-endowed individuals in our society,” he stated.

Rev. Kwabena Amankwah added that parents who allow others to train and instill discipline in their children open the door to many opportunities.

He noted that such children are thriving in their communities and often extend a helping hand to others in need.

According to the All Saints Anglican Parish Priest, some parents react harshly when others correct their children for misbehaving, an attitude he described as uncalled-for and contrary to God’s teachings.

“Any parent who doesn’t want their child to be corrected by others will eventually face consequences. It’s time such parents change their attitude, because they alone cannot properly discipline their wards to ensure a better future,” he said.

Rev. Charles Amankwah made these remarks on Sunday, June 22, 2025, during the Children’s Day celebration at the church, an event dedicated to nurturing the God-given talents of children.

As part of the celebration, the children were given the opportunity to play instruments, preach, and read from the Bible.

Rev. Canon Amankwah expressed his satisfaction with the performances displayed by the young participants.

He also taught them to be obedient to their parents and to show humility, stressing that this would encourage their parents to bless them and care for them wholeheartedly.
