Only 2 Percent Of Ghanaians Are On The Life Insurance Policies…Getrude Mensah Hints.

The Agency Supervisor of Prudential Life Insurance-Ghana at the Danquah Branch in the Greater Accra Region, Getrude Mensah, has bemoaned the low enrollment of Ghanaians in the insurance sector, particularly in life insurance policies.

According to her, research indicates that out of the over 30 million Ghanaian population, only 2% have registered for life insurance. She described this as very devastating.

Getrude Mensah emphasized the importance of an insurance policy in one’s life, especially life insurance, stating that it is about time Ghanaians prioritize it to secure their future.

As part of her 4th anniversary celebration in the insurance industry, Getrude Mensah embarked on a charity walk to feed the less privileged on some principal streets of Accra on Saturday, July 26, 2025.

She and her team took the opportunity to educate the general public on the need to enroll in insurance policies because nobody knows what will happen to them tomorrow or in the future.

Getrude Mensah said, If you’re on any of the insurance policies and something happens unexpectedly, and you need money immediately to solve the problem, you just have to walk to your insurance company to make a claim and collect your money.

She further explained that an insurance policy is meant to save people from critical situations where no one can assist them, thus, it must be a concern for all.

She added that insurance is regulated by the National Insurance Commission, which ensures that claims are fulfilled on time.

“Therefore, nobody should be afraid of patronizing an insurance policy because it is safe and secure, and once you have genuine documents to prove your claim, your money will be paid without any stress,” she assured.
