New Juaben North MP Hails Group For Prioritizing Women’s Welfare

The Member of Parliament for New Juaben North in the Eastern Region, Nana Osei Adjei, has commended the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Sweet Queens International, Felicia Boateng, for establishing such an association dedicated to supporting women’s welfare in the area.

He emphasized that empowering women to become self-reliant has been his foremost priority; therefore, upon his election and subsequent entry into Parliament, he had a longstanding aspiration to serve on the Gender Committee.

Mr. Osei said he was thrilled to find his name listed on the Committee for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, noting his consistent advocacy for women to be appointed to key positions across all sectors.

“Currently, the Ghana Parliament has 40 female MPs, and for these numbers to be maintained going into an election I would be glad to have females to contest those seats to enable the House to have the same numbers for them to have a say in governance as well as contribute their quota toward the nation-building,” he noted.

The lawmaker made these remarks at the official launch of the Royal Sweet Queens International Association at Oyoko on Saturday, August 16, 2025. The Association aims to support the underprivileged women in the area.

Mr. Osei added that women are inherently kind and, when entrusted with leadership, are less likely to amass personal wealth due to their fear of legal consequences after leaving office.

He argued that including more women in governance could help safeguard the public purse and reduce corruption and corruption-related activities in the country.

The Founder and CEO of the Royal Sweet Queens International Association, Felicia Boateng, explained that the group was instituted to support underprivileged women confronted with marital challenges and to bring joy into their lives.

Emphasising their generosity, she indicated that proceeds from the inaugural ceremony would be donated to the Oyoko Clinic to help them purchase equipment and enhance quality healthcare delivery at the facility.
