The Organizer of the Nankese Akwatukese Festival, Odeneho Sakyi has asserted that many of the infrastructure projects seen in various towns are born out of festivals.
According to him, the celebration of festivals in communities across the country unites people to come together and contribute money to address the pressing challenges confronting the community.
The Organizer added that festivals play a crucial role in community-building, which is why every town needs to uphold its festival in high esteem in order to preserve the rich heritage. He indicated that festivals also generate income for the country as well as boost the local economy.

Odeneho Sakyi made this known when launching the 2025 Nankese Akwatukese Festival on Saturday, September 13, at the Nankese Palace.
This year’s Nankese Akwatukese Festival is slated for November 10 to 16.
“Our Health Center is in a sorry state and we need money to refurbish it, stressing that a community that has a population of over 5,000 people doesn’t deserve such a health facility.”
He used the opportunity to call on the Nankese residents, both at home and abroad, to join and support them in raising funds to address some of the pressing issues in the area, such as their Health Center, to enable them to provide quality healthcare delivery to community members.

Speaking on behalf of the Member of Parliament for Suhum Constituency, Frank Asiedu Bekoe, Charles Gyasi, the Suhum NPP constituency organizer, mentioned that the MP is poised to support the Nankese Akwatukese Festival to ensure its success.
“The Nankese community formed part of my victory in the 2024 general election, and as your Member of Parliament, I will work closely with Nanaanom to champion developmental projects for the good people of Nankese,” he indicated.
The Nankesehene, Berima Annor Marfo II reaffirm their commitment to ensure the sustainability of the Akwatukese Festival in the community.
