Dr. Bawumia Is A Reconciliator: Give Him Another Opportunity… Suhum MP To NPP Delegates

The Member of Parliament for the Suhum constituency in the Eastern Region, Frank Asiedu Bekoe, who is well known as Protozoa, has endorsed the candidature of the former Vice President and the 2024 flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, as the sure bet for the 2028 general elections.

According to him, all those contesting the NPP’s flagbearership position deserve it, but they need someone who can easily reconcile with the unsuccessful aspirants immediately after the presidential primaries in January 2026.

Frank Asiedu Bekoe stated that Dr. Bawumia is tried and tested, and everybody in the NPP knows that he is the only person among the other four candidates who can quickly reconcile with them when elected as flagbearer, enabling them to recapture power from the National Democratic Congress in 2028.

Protozoa added that the former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, hasn’t indulged in a campaign of insults like his opponents. This indication, he said, shows his maturity and has prioritized the peace and unity of the party over his personal gains.

“Former President John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo were given several opportunities before winning the presidential seat for the NPP, and let me emphasize that Dr. Bawumia also deserves the same opportunity and he will deliver,” noted Asiedu Bekoe.

He made this known when Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia met a section of both past and current NPP Eastern Regional executives at Koforidua in camera ahead of their upcoming presidential primaries in January 2026.

“It baffles me to hear people blaming Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the 2024 election defeat to the NDC,” he said.

Protozoa stressed that anybody who belongs to the elephant fraternity contributed to their defeat and they must accept the fact in good faith and form a formidable team, unite, and work hard to snatch power from the NDC in 2028.

The Suhum MP then admonished the 20,000 NPP delegates who will be going to the polls to elect a new leader on January 31, 2026, to give Dr. Bawumia another chance to lead them into Ghana’s general elections in 2028, and he will secure victory for the party.
