The Pentecost Secondary School (PENSEC) in New Juaben South Municipal Assembly of Eastern Region on Saturday, September 27, 2025, celebrated its 25th anniversary under the theme: “Naturing Future Leaders Excellence of Virtue: The PENSEC Story.”
The institution established in 2000, marked its 25th anniversary.
In his speech, Headmaster of PENSEC, Elder Peter Atta Gyamfi, commended the Church of Pentecost and the Government of Ghana for playing a vital role in transforming and instilling discipline in the schoolchildren to help them move from ‘D’ position to category ‘A’ school.
“Despite achieving numerous successes, the institution still lacks infrastructure deficits that need swift attention,” he mentioned.
According to Elder Atta Gyamfi, the school is in dire need of a headmaster’s bungalow, a dormitory for both boys and girls, and a big auditorium, including a big generator also known as a plant.
He said that when these needs are met, it will help improve the educational infrastructure of the school to enable it to maintain its academic excellence.
He made a passionate appeal to the general public, especially NGOs and philanthropists, to come and assist them with any of the aforementioned projects to enhance teaching and learning in the school.
Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, entreated the school to reaffirm its dedication to discipline of academic excellence, integrity, and moral apartness in service.
She admonished present students to fully adhere to their studies and personal growth, drawing inspiration from the example set by their predecessors.
Madam Akosua Awatey used the opportunity to hail the staff and administration of the institution for their hard work and implored them to uphold the excellent standard that made the school unique among its competitors in the region.
She acknowledged crucial roles played by religious bodies in nation-building, indicating that the Church of Pentecost is no exception.
‘The high academic standard and discipline in mission schools have made them attractive for parents seeking placement for their children, the minister observed and pleaded with the management of the school to maintain such standards.
