Fanteakwa South: Osino Development Forum Ghana Donates 7,000 Exercise Books To Public Schools

The Osino Development Forum Ghana has donated 7,000 exercise books to government basic schools in the Fanteakwa South District in the Eastern Region.

Last year, in 2024, they donated 5,000 books, and this year, they increased the donation to 7,000. Additionally, Kindergarten students received special supplies, including 10 A4 sheets, erasers, sharpeners, pencils, and pens to encourage regular school attendance.

In a cross-section interview with journalists, the Public Relations Officer of the Osino Development Forum Ghana, Maestro Oduro Amaning,  emphasized the association’s commitment to addressing infrastructure needs and resolving minor challenges within the community.

He stated that education is the key to future prosperity, which motivates their support for the schoolchildren in Fanteakwa South District.

During school visits, Mr. Amaning stated that they observed many students were unable to participate in classroom activities due to a lack of exercise books.

As a result, the association decided to provide these essential materials to help students pursue their education and aspire to greater achievements.

The Education Director for the Fanteakwa South District Assembly, Richard Akosah Addo, mentioned that they have worked with the Fanteakwa South District Security Council (DISEC), traditional rulers, and parents to implement a curfew prohibiting schoolchildren from going out after 7 PM. He noted that this initiative has positively impacted students’ academic performance.

He commended the Osino Development Forum Ghana for its ongoing community support, highlighting how it alleviates financial burdens for parents who struggle to afford exercise books for their wards.

On his part, James Ayim, the Assembly Member for the Akyease Electoral Area, urged parents to prioritize their children’s education over encouraging them to engage in mining activities, as this would secure a better future for them.

Alhaji Abdul Razack, the NPP Japan Chairman who chaired the event, remarked that the educational landscape in Fanteakwa South is steadily improving, thanks to the initiatives implemented by community leaders.

He praised the Osino Development Forum Ghana for its efforts, which provided much-needed relief to financially constrained parents and also expressed support for expanding the initiative to benefit more children in the district.
