MTN Ghana Foundation Supports Akuapem Odwira Festival With GH¢30K Cash

The Mobile Telephone Network (MTN) has donated GH¢30,000 in cash, GH¢2,000 worth of airtime, assorted drinks, and hampers to the Akuapem Traditional Council in support of the 2025 Akuapem Odwira Festival.

This gesture forms part of the Foundation’s annual corporate social responsibility towards the celebration of the Odwira Festival.

Receiving the donation, the Akuapem Traditional Council acknowledged the MTN Ghana Foundation’s contributions to championing infrastructure development in the area.

The Council reiterated its commitment to strengthening ties with the Foundation to enable continued support for national development projects and youth empowerment.

They expressed gratitude for the donation and encouraged MTN to improve and enhance its network services.

Ransford Gyan, Area Sales Manager for the Eastern, Volta, and Oti Regions, emphasized the cultural significance of festivals, describing them as more than mere celebrations but as living expressions of African heritage.

He noted their role in preserving traditions, fostering unity, and inspiring future generations.

“Our success as a business is deeply connected to the strength and progress of the communities we serve, which is why we continue to invest in initiatives that promote, culture, economic empowerment, health, education, youth development, and digital inclusion across the nation,” he mentioned.

Mr. Gyan further stated that as the 200th anniversary of Akuapem Odwira approaches in 2026, MTN Ghana Foundation is proud to stand with Okuapehene, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III, in laying the foundation for a celebration that embodies both transition and transformation.

On behalf of Chief Executive Officer Stephen Blewett, Ransford Gyan extended well wishes to Okuapehene and the people of Akuapeman for a successful celebration.
