Suhum Okorase: Nkosuohene Hands Over Kindergarten Block To Presbyterian Basic School

The Nkosuohene (Development Chief) of Suhum Okorase, Nana Kwasi Gyampoh II, has officially commissioned and handed over a newly constructed Kindergarten (KG) block to the Okorase Presbyterian M/A Basic School.

The facility comprises two classrooms, a kitchen, a restroom, and a dining hall.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Nana Kwasi Gyampoh II underscored the mandates of the Nkosuohene (Development Chief) to spearhead and champion infrastructure development for the benefit of communities.

He noted that before this project, he had constructed a classroom block for the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity’s Vocational/Technical School and a clinic.

The newly commissioned KG block, he said, is the latest addition to his developmental efforts.

According to Nana Gyampoh II, the gesture forms part of his corporate social responsibility and pledged to continue undertaking such projects, stressing that the central government alone cannot meet the infrastructural needs of every community.

The Headmistress of the school, Madam Joyce Ansah, expressed gratitude for the new facility, stating that it would significantly improve teaching and learning at the Kindergarten level.

She described the previous KG block as a source of concern for parents and guardians, many of whom considered withdrawing their wards due to safety fears.

Madam Ansah added that the improved learning environment would likely encourage those who had withdrawn their children to re-enroll them.

She thanked Nana Kwasi Gyampoh II for responding to their concerns and personally funding the construction of the facility to ensure a safe and conducive space for learning.

Madam Ansah also appealed to the general public, particularly the Suhum Okorase Nkosuohene, to support the school with modern furniture, noting that the current ones are outdated and unsuitable for contemporary learners.
