The Aburihene, Otoobour Djan Kwasi, joined the good people of Tutu to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Nana Appiah Nti IV, the Tutuhene.
The Aburihene lauded his fellow traditional ruler’s transformational leadership on the throne.
According to him, Nana Appiah Nti IV is the only long-serving chief in Okuapeman whose legacy and contributions toward the development of Ghana, especially the Akuapem Traditional Council, have been phenomenal and unprecedented.
“As a nation, when God blesses you with such people, we honor and take good care of them because they still have more things to offer the country to benefit the younger ones,” he added.
Coincidentally, the 40th reign of Nana Appiah Nti coincided with the Tutu Ohum 2025 Festival celebration, themed: “Building On The Past, Shaping The Future, All Hands On Deck.”
Aburihene, who serves as Akuapem Adontenhene, added that Okuapeman, particularly Tutuman, is proud of him for championing infrastructure projects in the area as well as impacting lives under his stewardship over the past four decades.
As chairman for the occasion, Otoobour Djan Kwasi II, on behalf of the Okuapehene, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III, extended his congratulatory message to the Tutuhene for serving 40 years on the stool and asked God to keep and protect him so that he can live long and make chieftaincy in the Akuapem Traditional Council attractive.
Otoobour Djan Kwasi’s 37-year reign as Aburihene is the second-longest among traditional rulers in the Akuapem Traditional Area, after the Tutuhene.
In his speech, Nana Appiah Nti IV expressed heartfelt appreciation to his people for rallying behind him to succeed in his four decades as Tutuhene.
“Tutu doesn’t have any of the natural resources to enable it to get royalties to be used to run and manage its affairs but with the support from my people I have been able to reign for 40 years and chopped many successes, for the community,” he recounted.
Nana Nti IV appealed to his people to continue backing him to journey through the years ahead together and work assiduously to lobby for more infrastructure projects for them.
The Member of Parliament for the Akuapem North Constituency, Sammi Awuku, on his part, reiterated his commitment to serve, work hard, and partner with Nana Appiah Nti IV in developing Tutuman.
