Kwabenghene, Daasebre Anyimadu Kantamantu II, has for the first time narrated how God helped him escape an assassination attempt by some unknown individuals in the area.
According to him, his first royal durbar was scheduled for Friday, November 17, 2025, but some people placed an undisclosed amount of money on his head to have him killed during the event.
But, he noted that God exposed them, and they were apprehended by the Ghana Police Service.
Kwabenghene, who also serves as the Okyeman Gyaasehene, added that after their arrest, the Atiwa West District Security Council (DISEC), together with the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council, halted the event and embarked on thorough investigations to identify those behind this act and to ensure peace in the community before granting him the green light to hold his first royal durbar celebration.
Daasebre Anyimadu Kantamantu II, the overlord of Kwabeng, noted that the durbar is now slated for Friday, December 12, 2025, and he thanked God that he is still alive to witness that important day in his life.
He expressed profound appreciation to the Ghana Police Service and all those who played a crucial role in arresting the assassins and restoring calm in the area.
He added that he has championed infrastructure projects in the area as Kwabenghene for the past seven years and has lobbied for institutions such as the National Health Insurance Authority, the Ghana Immigration Service, the Ghana National Fire Service, and others to establish offices in the town so residents can benefit from national cake.
“When I became the Kwabenghene in 2018, I realized that the unemployment rate situation among the youth in the community was very high, so I spoke to a mining company in the area called Extra Gold Mining Limited to employ them, and God being so, they listened to me and employed many of them,” he recounted.
Daasebre Anyimadu Kantamantu II stated that he has chalked up many successes and saw the need to mark his first royal durbar as Kwabenghene and render an account to his people about what he has achieved in the past seven years and what he intends to do in the years ahead.
He used the opportunity to invite his people, both abroad and at home, to come on board and make his upcoming durbar successful.
