
A Ghanaian music legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, who is popularly known in the music industry as Daddy Lumba, is set to be laid to rest on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the Baba Yara Stadium in the Ashanti Region.
Ebenezer Oppong, the brother of the late highlife musician, announced that the funeral for Daddy Lumba is scheduled to take place on December 13, 2025, as confirmed by Manhyia.
According to him, preparations are underway for the final celebration of Daddy Lumba’s life, which is being supported by the Government of Ghana led by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.
Speaking to Prince Obeng, popularly known as DJ Hitman on Anidaso Wo Ho Ma Obiara morning show on Accra-based DL FM 106.9, Mr. Oppong emphasized that preparations are advanced for the funeral.
He urged fans to disregard misleading information circulating on social media suggesting the funeral date has been rescheduled to next year.
Ebenezer Oppong, who leads the financial committee of the funeral assured the public that they have put in place security measures to ensure peace and safety during and after the funeral.
“At least three hundred security personnel will be deployed to protect funeral attendees,” he confirmed.
Mr. Oppong also announced that Cal Bank has been designated as the official collector for the funeral donations, eliminating the need for in-person collections.
He called on the general public to come and support the bereaved family to give Daddy Lumba a deserving farewell.
