MTN Ghana Foundation Donates Hampers To Babies Born On December 25

The Mobile Telephone Network (MTN) Ghana Foundation donated baby hampers to mothers who delivered on December 25, 2025, to put smiles on their faces.

The items included diapers, wipes, dettol, baby oil, baby cream, and soap, among others.

According to the Foundation, the donation forms part of its annual social corporate responsibility to ease the burden on mothers who, in one way or another, cannot afford basic items for their newborn babies.

Speaking to journalists after the donation, the Territory Sales Controller of the MTN Ghana Foundation at the Koforidua office, Ebenezer Okaikoi-Tetteh, said this was the 14th edition of the baby hamper donation exercise since its inception in 2011, stressing that many mothers have benefited from the programme.

The team donated the hampers to mothers who gave birth at the Eastern Regional Hospital, Koforidua, SDA Hospital, Koforidua Polyclinic, St Joseph Catholic Hospital, and Dwenase CHPS Compound, among others, to show love and concern for their welfare.

Mr Okaikoi-Tetteh mentioned that the programme is taking place in all 16 regions of Ghana, with a total of 700 hampers being distributed nationwide, out of which 40 were shared in the Eastern Region.

A midwife at the St Joseph Catholic Hospital, Anastasia Osei Mensah, on behalf of the beneficiary mothers, thanked the MTN Ghana Foundation for the benevolence shown to them.

She said that on December 25, the facility welcomed nine bouncing babies without recording any maternal death.

Mrs Osei Mensah added that some mothers sometimes find it difficult to raise money to purchase prescribed items for delivery and expressed the belief that the donated items would be of great help to them.
