Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Fanteakwa South constituency in the Eastern Region on Saturday, January 3, 2026, worshiped with the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church in Dwenase to usher in the first Saturday church service of the year.
The motive behind this Thanksgiving service was to show appreciation to God for seeing them through the year 2025 as well as winning the 2024 general elections.
Speaking to Journalists, the Chairman of the constituency, Mark Okraku revealed that during the 2024 election campaign they went to the various churches in the constituency including the SDA Church to pray for God’s grace and mercy to enable them to win the elections. He explained that God listened to their prayer request and the NDC emerged victorious after the exercise which is why they saw the need to praise God for the wonderful things he has done for the party.
Mr. Okraku said that the NDC in Fanteakwa South is committed to fostering peace and unity among its members so that they can work hand-in-hand to help the party retain power in 2028.
“We are in power, and as a party, it’s our core mandate to help the government succeed so that Ghanaians will not regret voting massively for us in 2024,” he stated.
He then implored the youth of the country, especially his constituents who are hungry for work, to exercise restraint because the government is working tirelessly to create more jobs to employ them and reduce the unemployment rate.
