
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has commissioned the long-awaited Koforidua redeveloped Jackson Park Project.
The project, commenced in 2021, comes with a volleyball and basketball court, stores, a restaurant, public and VIP stands, amongst others.
The redeveloped Koforidua Jackson Park project was funded through the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Program (GSCSP) by the World Bank.
In his address, President Akufo Addo hailed the Municipal Chief Executive of the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly, Isaac Appaw-Gyasi, Member of Parliament for the Constituency, Michael Okyere Baafi, and the Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong for working together towards the completion of the project.
He stated that he was very excited to see the new facelift of the facility.
President Nana Addo then admonished the people of Koforidua to take good care of the project and utilize it well to help generate income for the government.
The Omanhene of the New Juaben Traditional Area, Daasebre Kwaku Boateng thanked President Akufo Addo and the New Patriotic Party government for redeveloping the Koforidua Jackson Park to become a multipurpose resource center.
According to him, he never thought that the project would be completed because the contractor midway vacated the site, which became his nightmare.
Daasebre Kwaku Boateng added that the completion of the facility shows that the NPP government priorities the development of New Juaben. He expressed their gratitude to the NPP government as the facility would go a long way to help the people through job creation opportunities.
