The District Chief Executive for Fanteakwa South District Assembly in the Eastern Region, Ernest Ofosu, the Member of Parliament for the Constituency, Arafat together with the Chiefs of Juaso have cut the sod for the construction of the Juaso Community-Based Planning and Services Compound to improve quality healthcare delivery in the area.
Speaking at the program, Ernest Ofosu said that the New Patriotic Party government led by President Akufo Addo has been committed to quality healthcare delivery, hence building the 111 Hospitals across all the 261 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies in the country.
According to him, when the Agenda 111 project is completed it will create over 78,000 job opportunities for the youth.
“The construction of the Agenda 111 hospital project alone has created numerous jobs for the skilled and unskilled youth in the country,” he noted.
Ernest Ofosu added all these projects form part of the government’s efforts to reduce the unemployment rate situation in the country.
He entreated Ghanaians to vote for NPP to remain in power in 2025 to enable them to do more infrastructure projects and create jobs for the youth.
The outgoing Member of Parliament for the Constituency, Kofi Okyere Agyekum, who is popularly known as ARAFAT, jabs the National Democratic Congress criticizing the NPP government for borrowing 671 billion Ghana Cedis and can’t account for what the money has been used for.
According to him borrowing money is not the problem, but what to use it for matters. He indicated that they wouldn’t have been able to successfully implement the Free Senior High School education policy and build the agenda 111 hospital projects, among other equally important projects to benefit the country, if the NPP government had not gone for those monies to run the affairs of the country.
“Former President John Mahama inherited a debt of ¢9.5 billion from former President John Agyekum Kufuor, and he increased it to over ¢120 billion when leaving office in 2017, and we didn’t see what they used it for likewise the NPP government,” he mentioned.
He then advised Ghanaians to have confidence in the NPP Government and maintain them in power in the upcoming December polls because they are the only political party that can develop Ghana.
Juasohene, Berima Kofi Amaniampong expressed his appreciation to the DCE and the MP for thinking about their health and bringing such an important project to them.
He assured them that they will provide support for the Northwell Limited Constructions, who are responsible for the project, to enable them to complete the project within 6 months to enhance healthcare delivery in the area.
