“We Will Continue To Chase You Out”…. Abuakwa North MCE To Nomadic Herdsmen

The Municipal Chief Executive for Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region, Alhaji Umar Babs Kofi Bodinga has expressed his displeasure in some of the communities members in the area who secretly informed the nomadic fulani herdsmen about their inappropriate means of going about their day to day activities.

According to the MCE, they will continue to chase them out of the Municipality until they finally leave.

It can be recall that on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, the Abuakwa North Municipal Security Council had a press conference and call on the nomadic fulani herdsmen to leave within 4 days together with their cattles.

Thus, on Monday, February 13, 2023, the Abuakwa North Municipal Security Council together with the Abuakwa North Operation flush out the cattle team embark on an operation to sack them but to their surprise they were no where to be found.

Alhaji Umar Bodinga then told Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH that, they will use drones to track and flush them out of the area because they don’t want to see them anywhere near Abuakwa North.

Meanwhile, the Eastern Regional Chief butcher, Mohammed Tanko who also rear cattle at Mpaem number 2 appealed to government to get some place for the nomadic fulani herdsmen where they can keep their cattle to prevent destroying people’s farm products because they also contribute to the Agriculture sector in the country.

“Most butchers in the region buy their cattle from this nomadic herdsmen so getting a place for them will help their work,” he told KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH.

A 20 year old Dennis Aboagye, a student of Akropong Presbyterian Training College of Education has been adjudged as overall best winner of 2022 student writer of the maiden edition of Teacher Trainee Association of Ghana, Eastern and Greater Accra sector Excellence Award

He is member of Church of Pentecost in Ada Assembly in the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly of the Eastern Region.

Dennis Aboagye was nominated as 2022 writer of the year and following that, the Presiding Elder of the Church of Pentecost of Koforidua-Ada Assembly, Elder Michael Kofi Asinor took it upon himself together with the congregation to contribute offering every Sunday to support him in the voting process to grab such award. The award ceremony was held at Accra college of of Education on 4th February, 2023 to honor him.

With the support from the Church members and other individuals, Dennis Aboagye emerged as the poetic writer of the year and overall best winner of the 2022 Teacher Trainee Association of Ghana, Eastern and Greater Accra Sector (TTAG-EGA) Excellence Awards.

The award winner then received a plaque , cash price, 32 inch LED television, reading books and a citation from the event organizers. Meanwhile some other fifteen nominees also awarded in different categories respectively.

Celebrating Dennis Aboagye in the Church of Pentecost, the Presiding Elder for Koforidua- Ada Assembly of the Church, Elder Michael Kofi Asinor entreated the youth to devote their time in serving God by taken part in all church programs, in doing so, the church will also support them when the needs arise.

The presiding elder Michael Kofi Asinor said ” they thank God their brother has brought the crown home.

According to the award winning Aboagye Dennis, he is overwhelmed for the support shown him by the church members.

He then show his heartfelt gratitude to all and sundry who made his dreams to become a reality.

He said , “he developed interest in poetic writing at a younger age after he lost his Dad, saying, he was so sad to the extent he didn’t know what to do and as a result, he decided to put his feelings into poem writing.

“The award received remind me of my father’s death, but believe that through this award, God will bless and show me the path,” he wept.

You Have 4 Day Ultimatum To Clear Off Your Cattle….Abuakwa North MCE Cautions

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region, Alhaji Umar Babs Kofi Bodinga has issued a ‘4 day ultimatum’ to nomadic Fulani herdsmen to clear off their cattle from its land to avoid any chaos.

According to the MCE who doubles as chairman for the Abuakwa North Municipal Security Council (MUSEC), the nomadic fulani herdsmen has invaded their land with about 10,000 cattle and they are destroying the farmers crops which is very devastating.

He furthered by saying, when they refuse to withdraw their cattle from the area within the 4 day period given, the MUSEC will use its security personnel to flush them out of the place to ensure the farmer’s farm products and crops are being protected.

Alhaji Umar Bodinga made this known to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH during a press conference organized by the Abuakwa North Municipal Council on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at the Assembly to send a word of caution to whoever is behind this nomadic Fulani herdsmen to vacate their cattle from their land as soon as possible or to face their wrath.

The MCE indicate that, over 70% residents of Abuakwa North are farmers of which most of them are women and they don’t want to hear this nomadic Fulani herdsmen has raped anyone of them or to cause harm to the farmers before action would be taken, hence the 4 day ultimatum to leave the place.

On the other hand, the chairman for Abuakwa North Farmers Association, Emmanuel Kudjo told KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH, they concur with the MUSEC for giving 4 day ultimatum to the nomadic fulani herdsmen to leave the area with their cattle, because their attitude towards them [farmers] are very bad and if care is not taking they can even kill you.

He added that, somewhere last year same nomadic fulani herdsmen invaded the place and destroyed many farmer crops and it cost them a lot.

He thus described the move by the MUSEC as very timely because anytime soon they would start planting their crops.

Meanwhile, Nana Kwakye Okyere, the Kukurantumi Sanaahene who represented the Kukurantumihene Daasebre Boamah Darko also told KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH that, they support the decision being taken by the MUSEC not to accommodate the nomadic fulani herdsmen and their cattle in the area.

Ellembele Constituency: Clement Blay Declears His Intention To Contest The Parliamentary Seat

The Chief Executive officer (CEO) for Shaip Africa Foundation, Dr. Clement Clinton Blay has declared his intention to contest for the Ellembele Constituency’s parliamentary seat in Western Region on the ticket of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to unseat the incumbent member of parliament.

The businessman who doubles as the branch executive member for the party said, he will challenge the member of parliament, Emmanuel Armah Buah when the party opens its parliamentary nominations forms.

To him, he believe that, the time has come for the youth to play a frontal role in the development of the area.

Stressing that, it’s time for more action and less talk in order to develop the Ellembele Constituency.

Declaring his bid to journalists on Monday, 6th February, 2023, he noted that, he recognize the good works being done by the current MP but believes a lot has to be done to change the face of Ellembele.

He then appealed to the delegates in Ellembele constituency to have faith him and vote him as their parliamentary candidate to lead them into the 2024 elections.

He emphatically stated that, he has all what it takes to lead the party in Ellembele, so therefore the delegates should ignore Emmanuel Armah Buah for a new brain.

Dr. Clinton Blay promise to build a community of equal opportunities for the NDC grassroots and the youth in Ellembele should he given the nod to lead the party.

To this end, he named his campaign slogan as ‘Obiaa B3 Didi’ to wit, to create an equal opportunity for all.

Dr. Clement Blay attended Ghana Secondary Technical School, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology to attain Bachelor of Pharmacy. He proceeded to further his education at the University of London – Bachelor of Laws. He holds Masters in Public Health Management and Doctor of pharmacy degree.

Mr. Blay is a law graduate, Economist, policy analyst, QPPV and a public health expert, a business man and convener for Citizens For Truth And Accountably, Ghana (CITAG).

New Juaben North: Joseph Djaba Declares His Intention To Contest The Parliamentary Seat

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Joseph Osei Djaba Foundation, Joseph Osei Djaba has declared his intention to contest the New Juaben North Constituency Parliamentary seat in the Eastern Region.

Speaking to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH, Augustine Antwi, the special aid for Joseph Osei Djaba said, the incumbent Member of Parliament for the constituency, Nana Adjei Boateng has made it clear that he won’t contest for the seat again come elections 2024 and saw it as great opportunity for him to join the race to contest for the vacant seat.

Augustine Antwi added that, some residents of New Juaben North requested for Community Health-Based Planning Services compound where they can go for treatment when they fall sick.

“He has used his own pocket money to built one for them and by March 2023 it will be commission and handover to the New Juaben North Municipal Assembly Health Director to be used and that’s the remarkable of a good leader,” he said.

Augustine Antwi who is popularly known as ‘Paga’ indicated,Joseph Osei Djaba is coming to continue the good works of Nana Adjei Boateng to help develop New Juaben North.

He furthered by saying, when nominations are being open, he [Joseph Djaba] will also pick up his forms so when the time is due for primaries the delegates of the constituency should remember him and vote him as their parliamentary candidate to lead them into the elections 2024.

He stated that, Joseph Osei Djaba is not coming to amass wealth for himself and his family but rather to put in place things that will change the face of New Juaben North and bring developmental projects in the area.

Okyeman Akyempemhene Celebrates 1yr Royal Enstoolment Anniversary

The Okyeman Akempemhene in the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council of the Eastern Region, Barima Kwame Antwi Bosiako on Saturday, January 28, 2023 marked his one year royal enstoolment anniversary colorfully.

Speaking in an interview with Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH during the celebration, Berimah Antwi Bosiako said, not long ago, Okyehene called all the Chiefs in the area for state council meeting and told them that he has built 10 school buildings so they should also help him with furniture.

According to him, he was delighted to hear such good news from Okyemanwura, so within a space of time, he put things together and get the schools 40 feeter container of both students and teachers furniture including cabinets to help Okyemanwura to execute his vision of providing quality education to the people of Akyem Abuakwa.

He added that, he will continue to humble himself, serve and be obedient to Okyene all the time. He also thanked Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin for the honor done him.

Barima Kwame Antwi Bosiako revealed that, he has also built ultramodern 30 [15 for men and 15 for women] toilet facility with bathhouse for market people who trade at Kyebi market and very soon he will hand over the edifice for use.

Furthermore, the Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong commended Okyeman Akyempemhene for the success chopped within his one year and urge other Chiefs to emulate that.

He added that, his human relationship is awesome that’s why many dignitaries [Chiefs, Ministers, CEOs, MCEs] drove from far and near to come and join him celebrate with him the enstoolment anniversary.

Accounting To The People Program: Suhum MP Hails Suhumman

The Member of Parliament for Suhum Constituency in the Eastern Region, Oboafo Kwadwo Asante has shown his profound gratitude to the people of Suhum especially the Chiefs for attending his accounting to the people program in their numbers.

The program started on the first Sunday of January, 2023 and ended on Sunday, January 29, 2023.

Oboafo Kojo Asante said, the people of Suhum sent him to Parliament to represent and work on their behalf therefore he owe them proper accountability about the works being done so far in his first two years as first timer MP, hence the program.

According to him, his first two years in office has been very successful one, saying, he has done a lot of works in Suhum constituency across all the sectors [being it Education, Security, Health, Roads, Agric and Employment] because, the well-being of his constituents is his priority.

The MP told Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH that, after projecting the works being done so far to his constituents, everybody is asking the delegates of Suhum constituency to give him more time to do more developmental projects for them especially the Chiefs, which is very encouraging.

Oboafo Kojo Asante ceased the occasion to throw more highlight on the 2023 budget and economic policy by the NPP government to his constituents and let them know there is a lot of good things in the budget that will help reduce the hardship in the country.

In addition, the Omenakohene, Barima Kofi Bonsu who chaired the Suhum Zone B’ accounting to the people program praised Oboafo Kwadwo Asante for good works done and also pleaded with Suhumman to maintain him come 2024 elections.

The chairman for Suhum constituency, Fredrick Ofosu urged his colleagues NPP chairmen to rally their support behind their MPs to propagate the good works of their MPs and NPP government as well.

To him, he believe that, NPP can only break the 8 year jix and remain in power in 2024 if their chairmen forgo their difference they have about their MPs and come together to support them sell the achievement of the ruling government.

I Don’t Subscribe To Corporal Punishment…Okyeman Akyempemhene

The Okyeman Akempemhene in the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council of the Eastern Region, Berimah Kwame Antwi Bosiako has kicked against corporal punishment in the educational sector since that’s not the only surest way of correcting school children when they go wrong.

According to him, the reintroduction of canning students won’t have any positive impact on them but rather worsen the situation.

He noted that it is about time parents sit their children down and advise them to exhibit good behavior in school since they don’t know what the future hold for them.

“Because is very worrying to see students damaging School properties worth millions of cedis as well as using profane words for the leaders of the country,” he stressed.

Berimah Kwame Antwi Bosiako told Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI when donating reading books and other teaching and learning materials to 10 basic schools [Primary level] in Kyebi to enhance the reading skills of the children in the area.

Some of the beneficiary Schools include Kibi M/A Experimental, Kibi Anglican, Kibi School for the Deaf, Ebenezer Habitat Presby, Pano Presby Basic, Methodist School, and KPCE Demonstration among others. Each school received over 50 boxes of learning resources.

To Okyeman Akyempimhene, he believes that the best option to correct the indiscipline behavior of Ghanaian students is to let them know the consequences of the wrong being engaged in.

Commenting on the donation, the Head of Supervision and Monitoring of Schools for Abuakwa South Municipal Assembly’s Education Directorate, Emmanuel Amoh said, reading play a vital role in one’s life, thus, the reading books received would help improve the reading skills of the children.

He assured Berimah Kwame Antwi Bosiako that they will put the reading books to good use and urge the other schools who were not part of the beneficiaries to exercise restraint for theirs will also follow suit.

Emmanuel Amoh then thanked the Akyempemhene for his kind gesture to the children.

Vandalising School Properties Uncalld-For—Education Minister

The Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North Constituency in the Eastern Region, Gifty Twum Ampofo has condemned the vandalisation of the school properties by some students of Krobea Asante Technical and Vocational Institute in the Ashanti Region.

She described their behavior as uncalled-for and shouldn’t be entertain in the education field saying, no matter what the situation may be, it is not right for students to take the law into their own hands to vandalise school properties.

Having condemned their behavior, she noted that, she is against the punishment of dismissing students for offenses committed because it has the potential of destroying their future.

However, she suggested they can be punished in other way round after investigations have been undertaken to serve as a deterrent to others.

Gifty Ampofo who doubles as the Deputy Minister for Education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) was speaking to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH when she embark on ‘My First Day At School’ visitation to the KG1 fresh students in her Constituency.

She also used the opportunity to inspect the ongoing nine Educational infrastructure in the area.

She then call on parents, clergy and traditional leaders to advise students to desist from such behavior because gov’t has invested heavily in FSHS and it is their responsibility to protect the educational infrastructure and equipments.

In addition, the Education Director for Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly, Abena Gyemerah commend the MP for always donating learning materials to fresher students whenever she paid them a visit something said help ease some burden of their parents.

She added that the Abuakwa North Municipality doesn’t have problem with teacher deficit and was grateful to Gifty Twum Ampofo for lobbying for more educational infrastructure for the area.

“We Will Continue To Borrow More Money If….Suhum MP

Ɔboafo Kojo Asante, MP-Suhum Constituency.

The Member of Parliament for Suhum Constituency in the Eastern Region, Oboafo Kojo Asante has charged Ghanaians to patronage made in Ghana products because that is the only way we can move the country forward when it comes to development.

According to him, if Ghanaians fails to inculcate the habit of patronizing made in Ghana products, then, the country would continue to borrow money from the developed countries to run and manage its affairs.

Oboafo Kojo Asante who doubles as the the vice chairman for Judiciary Services Committee in Parliament quizzed further who do Ghanaians expect to generate income for the country if its citizens do not patronize the locally manufactured ones.

He told Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH when rendering an account to his constituents at Nankese about the works he has done over the past two terms from January 7, 2021 to January 7, 2023 as first timer MP.

Oboafo Asante advise all and sundry to come on board, cherish and do well to patronage things we made in Ghana here, in doing so it will help boost the country’s economy.

On his part, the Nankesehene, Barima Annor Marfo II commended the MP for the good work done in the past two years in parliament.

Barima Annor Marfo II appealed to the Local Gov’t Ministry to give them District Assembly to separate themselves from the Suhum Municipal Assembly because Nankese is developing.

According to him almost majority of the government’s project are being centred at Suhum but getting a District will bring about a lot of developmental projects to the area.
