Bono-Ahafo Media Owners Looked Down Upon Their Staff With No Respect

Bono-Ahafo radio station owners must sit up, they need to brand their stations as well as their workers well to have peace of mind to work.

Most of these presenters and workers wake up as early as 4 am while others close from work at midnight. As a result of bad treatment by owners and managers it has resulted in them into series of borrowing, they owned almost all the well to do people in their vicinity.

It’s very disturbing to see how radio presenters and workers are in this region are suffering, an insufficient allowance at the end of the month others nothing at all.

Most of the guys are workaholics while others have the job at their heart as a result owner and management have taken advantage of their weaknesses and cheating them, forgetting they are the people who have to make the station stands on its feet but are not treated well.

Owners and managers looked down upon their workers, they can improve the working conditions of their employees and properly negotiate with them on their welfare.

The owners give less respect to the guys and think of the money for his family alone, the workers should go and chew gravels with their families.

Most of these great radio presenters that you hear their voice on the radio stations in these regions received less salary at the end of the month, sometimes they hardly get their salaries at the end of the month, sometimes three months or thereabout.

According to the guys I have spoken with they get as low as ghc100 the highest pay is less than ghc1,000 others nothing.

According to my investigation, some of the workers have been on probation for more than three years and over.

These three regions, Bono, Bono East and Ahafo have produced several better presenters in the country when they go to work in another region.

An extensive number of radio presenters known in the industry in the country passed through these regions.

I’m using this platform to confide in them to equally pay their workers well and properly brand the media practitioners in the regions.

“Free SHS Reversed Decades Of Exclusion; Enhanced Access And Quality”••••••Prez Akufo-Addo

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, says the introduction and implementation of the Free Senior High School policy has ensured that hundreds of thousands of young Ghanaian men and women, who, previously, would have had their education truncated at Junior High School level, now have the opportunity to further their education.

According to President Akufo-Addo, the introduction and acceptance of the Free SHS policy promoted by his Government has expanded dramatically access to education, enabling hundreds of thousands of young men and women, from all corners of our country, to go to senior high school.

“The policy has reversed decades of exclusion, which denied, on the average, one hundred thousand young men and women, annually, entry to senior high school education because of the poverty of their parents,” he said

The President made this known on Saturday, 29th May 2021, when the University of Cape Coast conferred an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership degree on him, at a ceremony at the campus of the University.

Addressing the gathering, President Akufo-Addo added that the Free SHS policy has meant that Ghana can now begin to reap the fruits of the talents of all its young people, as has been spectacularly demonstrated by the outstanding results of the first graduands of the policy in the most recent West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

“Of the four hundred and sixty-five (465) who obtained 8As in the exams, the “Akufo-Addo graduates” from Ghana, as they have become known, were responsible for four hundred and eleven (411) of them,” he said.

The President continued, “Not only has access been widened, but quality has also been maintained, indeed, enhanced. Government is also ensuring that access to tertiary education is expanded, through the removal of the guarantor requirement that makes it difficult for some students to apply for loans through the Student Loan Trust Fund programme.”

This process of expansion of educational opportunities, he stressed, “has to be the bedrock of educational policy in the 21st century for our nation, if we are to make the rapid transformation of our social and economic lives we all seek.”
