Ministry Of Education And COTVET Meet ICCES Over The 5yrs Strategic Plan Of TVET Transformation

The Ministry Of Education and Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (COTVET) have met and interacted with all the Training Providers of Integrated Community Centre for Employable Skills (ICCES) at the Pre-Tertiary Level.

Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo, Deputy Minister of Education

According to the Deputy Minister of Education in Charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North Constituency in the Eastern Region, Hon. Gifty Twum-Ampofo said, the purpose of the event is that, the Ministry of Education and COTVET want to bring ICCES under them and give them Competency Based Training (CBT) to boost up the teaching and learning across the country.

She indicated that, Parliament is working on the 5yrs Strategic plan of TVET transformation and as at now they have gotten to the 4th level. “We have met all the administrators of the various institutions who are under the Ministry institutions including the biggest National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI)”

“The ICCES is under the Ministry of Local Government and with this transformation plan they are all coming to be under the Ministry of Education. If we are doing this 5yrs strategic transformation plan, there is the need to involve them to know and understand the project”

“Moreover we want all the Technical and Vocational Institutions in Ghana to do one subject and write the same exams at a time” she explained.

Hon. Deputy Education Minister said, Ghana we has over 19 ministries, and they have one institution or the other of which they are all training the youth. “The most painful aspect of it all is that, after completing the school and issuing their certificate to them, they can’t take it anywhere, because some of the certificates are not credible and it make it things difficult for them to get job opportunity in the Gov’t institutions” she said.

“If we bring them under the Education Ministry and Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (COTVET) all those challenges would be solved. That’s why Prez Akufo-Addo says only one way we can stop poverty is TVET, so therefore let’s all get involved” she pleads.

She continued that, TVET is no more the last choice but rather first choice for the BECE graduates in most develop countries in the world yet we have TVET school in category A, B, C, and D, so the parents should take their wards to school and help the headteachers to select the TVET schools for their children who have interested in TVET by so doing we can eradicate unemployment’s system from the country.

ICCES Directors and Managers

“When it comes to the school placement system for TVET , every programme the school offers is attached, so the 2020 BECE graduates shouldn’t look at the name of the school to do their selection, rather they should consider the course they know they can do it best and select that TVET school to help them achieve their vision after completion” Hon. Gifty Twum-Ampofo advised.

Furthermore, the Acting Executive Director of Integration Community Centre for Employable Skills (ICCES), Mr. David Mensah also stressed, we are under Ministry of Employment and the country don’t have enough resources but gov’t says all the 19 institutions within the ministries should re-align with Ghana TVET services.

He noted that, now the management structure, and the focus of issues on infrastructure , human resources, logistics, promotion and everything is going to be focus under TVET services.

“We have so many infrastructure challenges and I believe that, now that the gov’t want to take over the ICCES, is a laudable idea and it will help us to resolve those problems we were facing” he praised.

E/R: NDC Party Holds Efie Nyɛ Press Series And Scores Prez Nana Addo 14%

The Eastern Regional Secretariat for opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) party have held a press conference entitled “Eastern Efie Nyɛ” Series to access the abysmal performance of Prez Akufo-Addo led NPP Gov’t getting to the 4yrs in office.

Mr. William Darlas Ampomah

Addressing the press, the regional communication officer for NDC, Mr. William Darlas Ampomah said, the eastern region is the home of the sitting Prez who doubles as the Flagbearrer for New Patriotic Party (NPP). The expectations were that, the region will witness unprecedented development if no other region did.

“Unfortunately the situation the eastern region can be summarized as “home no good” ( Efie Nyɛ). Indeed we the people of the eastern region are disappointed in Nana Addo and his gov’t came to power on the basis of lofty promises, such as one village one dam, 1million dollars per constituency, putting money in our pockets among others all hoax” he noted.

“When they assure us that “yɛte sika so n’so ɛkom de yen” little did we know in less than 4yrs he was going to borrow over GH₵130bn used the money to seek the welfare of his close family members and friends to the neglect of the Eastern Region and Ghana as whole” he did explained.

We all know the monumental projects and programmes Prez John Mahama delivered in nationwide. He built hospitals, roads, port expansion, community day Senior High Schools etc when added a little over GH₵50bn to the national debt. So today we ask what has Prez Akufo-Addo used the GH₵130bn for?. Nana where is the money?. ( Nana sika no wɔ hen)?.

He further stated, specifically in today’s Eastern Efie Nnyɛ Series we seek to make 3 major observations.

  1. Nana Addo and NPP have woefully failed the eastern region, Efie Nnyɛ and has only delivered or partially delivered just a partly 14.28% that’s 3 out of 21 promises. The promises they made to the people of the eastern region prior to the 2016 elections.
  2. Even for the abysmal 14.28% of promises they delivered it deployment was discriminatory and selectively targeted to benefit a few in the eastern region because major part of the region have been neglected.
  3. On account of these we submit that Prez John Mahama has superior record of achievement in the eastern region. He distributed development equitably within in the eastern region not just for the few and can be trusted as not Nana Addo.

Eastern Regional Minister Vindicated After Plans Backfires

The Eastern Regional Minister, Honourable Eric Kwakye Darfour, has been exonerated after a scheme led by some persons within the party to dent his image has been uncovered.

Hon. Eric Kwakye Darfour

They initially targeted the minister’s parliamentary seat and succeeded snatching it from him and has extended further, their ploy to his ministerial position.

The agenda has however been foiled, vindicating the minister, and rather crashing the heads of some of the plotters to the gutters.

The ill motived agenda began with the collection of a GHC1 levy from drivers who ply their trade in the three (3) Municipal and District Assemblies in the Kwahu area ahead of the NPP’s parliamentary primaries. They mounted barriers at all entry ports to the Kwahu area namely, MTTD – Atta Ne Atta; KAWSEC Junction; Life FM; Soldier-line; Adoagyiri – 440 and Nsuta – Abanase.

The aggrieved drivers, approached the regional minister at his office to help solve the matter. The minister further called the three MDCEs in the area to reconsider their decision in order to save the face governing party in the enclave which happens to be one of the party’s worldbanks.

Report has it that, in a bid of bringing the issue to its logical conclusion, about three different meetings involving the drivers, Regional Security Council (REGSEC), the three MDCEs in the Area, Hon Yaw Owusu Addo, Kwahu West; Hon Isaac Agyapong, Kwahu East and Kwahu South’s Emmanuel Atta Ofori Snr were held.

The MDCEs refused to accept the decision by the minister and REGSEC, as well as the drivers to halt the levy collection on all the occasions the meetings were held.

To legalize the collections, especially in the case of the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly, where the Minister doubles as the MP, the MCE hurriedly tendered in the decision to the Municipal Assembly for ratification and was made an Assembly by-law.

Surprisingly, the three MDCEs suspended the collection of the levies, without going back to their various Assemblies for reversal of the decision few days after the regional minister had lost the primary election.

In an interview on Nkawkaw based Agoo FM, the MCE for Kwahu West and the MP for Abetifi, Honourable Bryan Acheampong, announced the stoppage of the collection of the levies from the drivers, a day after the Minister had lost the primaries.
True to the announcement, the collection of the levies, though not sent to the Assembly for its reversal, halted.

Angered by the disrespect metted to them by the MCE and subsequent breach of the District, Municipal and Metropolitan Assemblies standing orders, some 14 assembly members initiated a process to pass a ‘vote of no confidence’ in their MCE.

The assembly members petitioned the Presiding Member of the assembly to begin processes towards the exercise, a process which they have since rescinded until further notice.

The actions of the Assembly members were quickly greeted by the saboteurs of the MP with the execution of their second strategy of making him lose his ministerial position.

Report says stories were immediately shared in some media portals indicting the MP, Hon Eric Kwakye Darfour, of masterminding the actions of the Assembly members, in an attempt to smear him.

The MP was also accused of sabotaging the party’s parliamentary candidate, Joseph Frimpong, a former Constituency Organizer of the party in Nkawkaw.

This deliberate link of the actions of the Assembly Members to the minister according to sources within the minister’s circle came as a complete shock to him.
According to the source, while the minister had no knowledge about the actions of the assembly members, he is equally baffled and finding it difficult to come to terms with why he will be linked to their actions.

The minister has also been accused of branding his car with pictures of the President and the Vice-President without that of the PC.

A close source to the minister said, it is not up to him to print souvenirs for the PC and that as and when the PC’s souvenirs are ready, he is also ready to help him.

The source said, the branding of the car was done by the constituency secretary who felt the party is not being made visible in the area with just about two months into the general election.

“It had to take the minister to intervene to get the NDC to move their banners from his (MP) area. This is because the NPP PC and the campaign team are not making the party visible in the area. The minister cannot sit idle, so if he is helping in making the party visible in the area as a sitting MP, is that a crime?” the source questioned.

Some of the constituents

Managing Your Anger, The Best Way To See God’s Blessings…..Apostle E. A. Tettey

Apostle Elisha Adjin-Tettey in an advice to world wide Christians said “God blessings comes in disguise” yet Christians are to help control their anger.

Apostle Elisha Adjin-Tettey

“We need not to understand God in how He does His works because He is God” he said.

“God works can’t be understood by man and He can’t be quentioned as in why and how He does his work”

Throwing more light into this, he pleased to all Christians to accept all words but help to manage the root ones out.

Based on the Scriptures, Provibes 29:22 and Eph 4:26-27 advice all Christians to do away all anger for it is only “foolish people” who never made chances out of this quote from the Bible.

Moses never step foot to the promise land due to anger after God asked him to hit his rod to the mountain for the flow of water.

Beside Moses also pleaded to God to control his temper on the Israelites for the Egyptians might consider him as wicked.

He advice Christians to take this as key to their marriages, work, friendships etc for a sustainable and reflection on our daily lives as Christians.

Watch the video

In conclusion, he used the just happened in the United State of America, Pastor Sylvester, who recently shot his wife to death because he (pastor Sylverster) couldn’t control his anger.
