The New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary Candidate for Suhum Constituency in the Eastern Region, Frank Asiedu Bekoe who is well known in the political terrain as ‘Protozoa’ has called for unity among party members in the area.
Asiedu Bekoe said although delegates have their preferred candidates during the primaries, the most important thing is ensuring there’s peace and harmony among the NPP fraternity at the constituency level.
According to him, if they go into the 2024 election with bitterness, and disunity among others there is no way they can increase their votes in the Suhum constituency and maintain the Parliamentary seat for the NPP.
Frank Bekoe further stated that chaos and misunderstanding retarded development, hence NPP members in the area should forgo their differences and come on board and rally behind the party to clinch victory in both Presidential and Parliamentary seats.
Frank Asiedu Bekoe was speaking to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN OBOH when he embarked on a Thanksgiving Service after his victory on January 27, 2024, where he worshipped with Churches in the Nankese Zone of the constituency.

Some of the Churches he visited in the Nankese Zone include The Church of Pentecost, The Methodist Church of Ghana, The Apostolic Church-Ghana, the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, and last but not least 7th Day Sabbath Assemblies.
He further revealed that his decision to contest the Suhum Parliamentary Seat stems from remarks made about him by some clergy and opinion leaders of Nankese.
Frank Asiedu Bekoe then entreated his followers to stop mocking the other parliamentary aspirants who lost his bid indicating that doing so would breed hatred and disunity among members of the party.

Barbara Sampana, Women Org. – Akuapem South Constituency.
The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP), Women Organizer for Akuapem South Constituency in the Eastern Region, Barbara Sampana expressed her frustration over the suspension of its parliamentary primary.
She said the suspension of the constituency poll coupled with the party’s continuous silence on rescheduling a date for the exercise is a development that is unhealthy for Akuapem South and the NPP’s national front at large.
The NPP, before its nationwide primaries on January 27, 2024, to elect parliamentary candidates at constituencies where it has sitting Members of Parliaments suspended the poll of some areas including Akuapem South over issues of court injunction among others.
Commenting on the matter, Madam Sampana expressed that neither an official communique nor a new date has been communicated to the leadership of the constituency on holding their polls to elect a parliamentary candidate.
According to the Women Organiser, the absence of a Parliamentary Candidate for the area is not only affecting their campaign within the constituency but also their inability to sell the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to the people without a parliamentary candidate.
She then admonished the National Executive of the party to fastrack their discussions around the affected constituencies amid resolving all issues at hand to pave the way for them to go to the polls to elect a leader to lead the area for the forthcoming December 7, 2024, general elections.
Barbara Sampana used the opportunity and entreated the party faithful in the area to exercise some patience as the leadership of the party will soon fix a new date for its primary.

A former Assistant Secretary for the New Patriotic Party in New Juaben North in the Eastern Region, Richard Antwire has opened up on why he redrawn his candidature from the contest
